Johnny Depp has been all over the news as a result of his much-publicized defamation case with Amber Heard. They say all press is good press, but in this case, questions still linger about Johnny Depp's future film career - particularly his involvement with the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. No. Johnny Depp already said while on the witness stand that he no longer has any desire to play as Jack Sparrow. I understand where he's coming from. When someone wrongly jump to conclusions and ruins your reputation over it and it comes out later you really were in the right, it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth.

People seem to forget that Johnny Depp is one hell of a fine actor! Over his career he has shown that he can do it all, he has done drama/ thriller, he's done horror, he's done comedy, he's done musicals.. I have no doubt believing that he could easily headline another franchise. He's not captain jack sparrow, he's JOHNNY F@#+;?! DEPP!!!!

If you ask me if he's creepy, i would say the characters he played on screen were creepy but the man in real life is not. And after seeing his ex-wife smirking and smiling while he was testifying about losing his finger and other painful events definitely ranked among the creepiest things I have seen.

Disney has no right to say anything to Depp. You can't just be like "oh, sorry about throwing you under the bus before. It was better for business if we automatically believed you were guilty, we didn't have a choice". If Depp chooses to return to Pirates, it's totally up to him.

Whilst there’s nothing legally holding JD back from returning to the POTC franchise, under Disney, I feel JD will stand his ground and not return. Is that unfortunate for the POTC franchise? Absolutely! Disney, however did fire JD based on assumption. Therefore, Disney needs to pay the price for that! Oh dear! That’s what you get for firing someone who is NOT guilty.

Just me personally, If I was in Johnny Depp's position, I would just say no, and seek roles elsewhere. If he chooses, that is his decision, but I wouldn't do it given how Disney treated him.

Nothing personal, it's just business. Afterall, they have to look out for themselves, what makes them look good, and makes them the most money. Having a potential abuser star in one of their big movies could hurt sales and company image. I would totally understand. I would want an apology to some extent though

@@Driden What happened to me, I used a racial slur. I got fired for it, though I was defending the law against racism. I was fired for being unprofessional. I don't think, even were I to be invited back, that I could just forgive. I don't know if what I've said here is clear. Even after 2 years, it just hits me too hard. I was working in federal civil service. Just to clarify, that isn't the only reason. Some is my fault, but from my point of view, not all. This was the 3rd nail in the coffin, and I had requested multiple times to be reassigned to a less stressful job even if I had to take a step down in pay grade before that happened. I was allowed to retire rather than just be outright fired. My requests to be reassigned began about 5 years before that, so about 2015. 2020 was when I was forced to retire. Some of that is due to medical problems, and some is due to my own bad decisions. As I was not reassigned as I requested, there is no way to know if that would have worked or not.

@@Ryooken he wasn't convicted of being an abuser. He lost the trial a defamation trial against a magazine which posted defamotary article about him. UK has really big loopholes for publications to dust their hands off even if they put out anything without evidence. But Depp won in the end and in both court of law and public opinion so now he can do whatever he wants and people love him now.

I think it's very safe to say that the vast POTC fans & audience globally will have no interest in any future POTC of any kind if Captain Jack never returns again in any shape or form. He is the franchise, plain & simple. And the very idea of replacing Johnny with another actor is financial & franchise suicide. However, there is another factor here to consider. Let's just pretend for arguments sake that Disney makes a proper apology to Johnny & give him whatever paycheck he demands, & Johnny draws back his promise to never work for Disney ever again & now will after all; I do NOT want to see Jack Sparrow being tossed into such a garbage script & story as he was for POTC5! That film did to Jack what TLJ did to Luke Skywalker! Jack was totally out of character, it wasn't funny nor entertaining. Barbossa was treated very well in POTC5 but they killed Jack without killing him before our very eyes, he was not at all as he should have been. And if the impossible happens & we do get Johnny back as Jack against all odds, if they give him another shitty story & script like this again, then what is the point? In the end, what we all want is another great POTC entry that continues the adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow. POTC5 was NOT a great entry! And that was prior to Johnny getting fired. How can anyone trust Disney to do better with a possible POTC6? If Johnny is to come back to us he should do that as the star that he is, not get further dragged through the mud.

What Looper fails to point out is the 1 count that the jury found against Depp in the counter claim wasn't even spoken by Depp. Disney needs Depp more than he needs them generally. I can't see him showing up for a cameo for a corporation that treated him as poorly as they did. There are plenty of studios that have the ability to pay him big bucks to start major blockbuster franchises even at his age. As far as showing up late to set is concerned - they all STILL hired him knowing that because they needed his on screen presence. Robbie isn't a draw for me and I'm not going to watch yet another thrown together, POS, wahmen rule, crap fest of a film, which is likely what we'd get such as Birds of Prey just mashed into the Pirates franchise.

Late 2000s they better take into consideration that late 2000s would have been when he met amber heard. Which was when she would legitimately make him miss flights, lock the door barricading him in hilding him in the limo not alowing him to leave. I think there are enough fans who love the Pirates movies and Johnny Depp who will return to watch him. And he basically won his trial of defamation. Johnny was also in the second Fantastic Beasts movie despite some protests over a different issue. Fans can forget the drama after awhile. But not all of them.

Even if they approached him, he should tell them to piss off. Let the franchise and Disney sink. I like a point that Johnny made -- that Captain Jack is never far away and that he doesn't need a company like Disney to bring the character out. He said Captain Jack can still visit children's hospitals, birthday parties etc., and that the best part of playing the role was the smiles.

@@fernandodecarlosmalcher7977 Whether it was called unfair or not, the point was that the US case the judge prevented valuable evidence from being exposed in the VA case which would have drastically changed the outcome. If you read the multiple motions to suppress the evidence, you will see that Mr. Depp wanted a different picture of his character painted in this case vs the last one. I am not going to belabor the case merits of each verdict because I have issues with both trials particularly since they didn't bother to sequester the jury as they should have, that being said, if you paid attention to the England's case you will find that they had stronger evidence against Mr. Depp.

By the way, just as a reminder, Johnny Depp didn't lose his career because he mistreated Amber. He lost his career because he smacked on of his co-workers on set and that added fuel to the fire. After that they cancelled his projects. People forget about what was happening at the time, they only focus on the superficial and not the whole picture.

He apparently did his share of drugs in his early years when he was dating Hollywood starlets like Kate Moss but then he got past all that, settled down with Vanessa for 14 years in France with their two kids. He lived a relatively quiet life doing mostly kids movies and stuff well not kids movies but kid friendly. It wasn’t until he met Amber that her personality and the way she was triggered him, triggered things from his past and he picked up the Addiction again, drink heavily etc. from what we’ve heard in court he’s a late person in general but the one guy that vouched for him that works in the industry said that “when you hire Johnny Depp you get all of Johnny Depp“ so it’s not like it’s not common knowledge that he’s known to be late, doesn’t work from the script, builds and creates his own characters in these movies. All that bad stuff going on was during his time with Amber, before that he was fine and I think he’ll be fine when he gets back to it. The rumor out there is that they’re going to reprise Beetlejuice and do a sequel with Johnny which is set to come out in 2025. Supposedly that’s supposed to be his comeback movie. I think he would make a fantastic Beetle Juice!

Disney dumped a man who made them hundreds of millions of dollars with no proof. Johnny needs to walk away and make other, more appreciative, producers lots and lots of money. He is full of amazing characters that people haven't met yet, all as loveable as Captain Jack or Edward Scissorhands. Johnny has sold the 5 penthouses, has an album coming out with Jeff, a French movie, and a future Sherlock 3 movie. He has money coming in and can choose projects without disney.

I dont see depp working with any franchise that cut him entirely because of the amber heard debacle. Asking him to do another film after having fired him from franchises he helped build would be like "hey sorry i let them try to kill you and you lost all that blood, but you wanna go out on the town later?" Although depp has 3 upcoming movies, and only one title announced so far.

The UK judge has a son that was the person who wrote the article in the UK SUN, defaming Johnny in the first place, and the judge's son was FRIENDS with Amber Turd, so that's clearly a conflict of interest on behalf of the judge. So there's that to start with. And secondly, Looper has been continuously biased towards Depp from the moment the UK story broke, so there's that as well.

It would be a huge mistake for Disney not to make an offer to Johnny Depp he could not easily refuse, something that goes beyond Pirates of the Caribbean even, and offer him a multi-movie contract with substantial benefits.. he is a genius actor and there is no doubt he has more unseen great characters up his sleeve if given the chance, with huge box office takings for any big Hollywood studio that manages to bag him.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, If I were Johnny I would not go back without a Public Apology from Disney.. I would also have in Writing that I Own 50 Percent of the POC Franchise Rights after everything I have brought to POC and how much I have invested of myself in it, Plus I would want Double the Salary I had when they Fired me over Alligations and not Facts... That is the Least they could do.. Without Johnny Depp there is no POC Franchise, because JD is The Franchise and every Pirate Movie they make will Flop because it will be Boycotted around the World... Johnny Depp is Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Jack Sparrow is Johnny Depp end of Story...
