From what I've read, the town only consisted of 2500 people and the PD seemed to be a "Family Affair." What she did was horrible and completely unaccountable. I hope that she serves at least 5 years in prison, which is rather light.

She pleaded guilty to Using a computer to Commit Crimes, she only got 3 years & 4 months…all other 8 charges got dropped. Early release date is 10/22/2027

It astonished me when the police get a minimum sentence. They're supposed to be held to a higher standard, but instead they're given a pass. The system is corrupt, judicial nepotism. It's no wonder they break the law, they're emboldened by the leniency. The prosecutor has failed all of us, most of all, the citizens of that community. 😮😢

It’s one thing if you’re dipping in the cookie jar for your own personal use. But the crime goes to a whole different level when you are distributing those drugs. Police Officers need to be held to a higher standard. She needs to spend time in prison.

That sentence doesn’t even come close to what is deserved 😡 She wasn’t poor or desperate, she had options to deal with her addiction and she used her position as a police chief to not only conceal and commit these crimes, she used her position to steal the drugs, including from evidence 😡 I’m sorry, but any poor powerless individual off the street caught committing such crimes would likely be in jail for the rest of their lives!

Seems really light. She'll only serve half that sentence. _Connecticut categorizes crimes into two main parole eligibility groups: 85% and 50%. The former includes severe offenses such as violent crimes and sex offenses, requiring that at least 85% of the sentence be served, minus any applicable earned credits. The latter group allows for parole consideration after half the sentence has been served, provided the defendant meets certain conditions._ Should be extra time for public corruption / abuse of power. Even a 5 year sentence means she serving less than 3 years in prison.
