I remember once Shehla Rashid had said that Kashmir should be an independent country and people from India or any other countries should have visa and passport to visit Kashmir. Rahul, just ask her a few straightforward, pointed questions: 1) Does this _turncoat_ believe in the Bharatiya constitutional ethos? 2) Does she believe in respecting, preserving and protecting Bharat's territorial integrity and sovereignty (as fundamentally opposed by the _tukde tukde gang_ of which she has been an ardent supporter) 3) Does she believe and agree to the fact that Bharat is indeed secular (regardless of the insertion of the term "secularism" in the constitution as an afterthought) *only because of Sanatan character of Bharatiya culture and civilization since time immemorial* and NOT because the idea was imported from the West. Merely appreciating Modiji's role in the all round development of Bharat and taking Bharat to the forefront among the top countries of international importance is not enough. Until recently, the reality of Kashmir was a separate Flag, Constitution, Prime Minister included... so Hindustan was seen to be a different country in EVERY sense... changing, or correcting that will take a lot of time. 75 years cannot be undone in 5 years. Plus, it has been islamic, there was / is Pakistan, Gilgit Balochistan (common culture etc), PoK, Ladakh (also islamic in part) and so much more. It was take time - bottom line - for everyone there. For example, a friend of mine described in 1980 how during a picnic she was struck by the translation of minority community in Kashmiri media. For the rest of India, that would have typically meant Muslim. In Kashmir, it means Hindus. This was ~44 years ago. So... it's gonna take a LOT of time, efforts, money, sincerity, people, dedication, involvement...

I appreciate Shehla's point...its upto our muslim population to develop its own 'civil' society and look to its future development and growth at individual and societal levels. I am very pleased with the progress and positivity I am seeing in Kashmir but in the back of my mind keeping history of Kashmir in mind I ask with due respect will the love you are showing NOW! Will it continue in difficult times? Or will it turn to hatred ? As we see in other parts of India by muslims!
