After years of resisting, former Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva finally testified under oath on Friday about the alleged existence of deputy gangs within the Sheriff's Department.

LOL did you not research into the matter first??? There was arrests made by the FBI that concluded with their being gangs within the LASD and several convictions. Like the conviction of former sheriff Lee Baca.................. So yea, there is plenty of evidence of there being gangs within the LASD.

Because theyve been weeded out since Baca and Villenueva. But the County Supervisors like to reinvent the issue so they can remove the last Sherrif that was investigating THEM for corruption.

As a US Marine vet, just as we clique up- on the job and off, tatt up- with words or logos unique to us, use the words squad, team, gang, slang such as kill or be killed, and so on, Sheriff V spoke the reality of this. Human nature. The differentiator being conduct - and we all know many have been dishonorable in their conduct. All for the process of bringing charges against the individuals or gang. Case by case. Clean it up and from what I understand the red tape is thicker than ever for LAPD and most departments. Not staying there isn’t factually rampant misconduct within the LAPD. Have at it in handling that clean up. And its a continual clean up. Massive ego, massive risks, tough gig

People just want good honest cops. Not thugs with badges. If only the cops were strong enough to not protect the bad apples and kick them out we'd have less issues. This is just protecting their own. If you believe in a real justice system you can't have those whose job it is to enforce the law taking huge liberties and violating the law. Allegations of beating up children? I don't care how you label those kids. bad apples, whatever. Law enforcement can't be criminal as well.

All he did was lie and evade and dance around the questions. When you can't answer a question directly, then turn around and try to rephrase athe questions and redefine the answers, you're lying. Plain and simple. Why wouldn't you think criminal organizations such as gangs wouldn't exist within an organization such as the sheriff's dept when they have power? Anytime people are given power, they always abuse it. The sheriff's dept has a history of criminal behavior.
