You would need to experience a lot more Babymetal to have any idea what their "sound" is. They have done so many genre mashups with metal that you'd really have to hear at least a dozen songs from their 14 year career to get even a general idea of what their sound is.

Welcome to the Foxhole 🦊🤘🔥 It's always nice to see more reactors getting into this amazing group, they're a global phenomenon from Japan and trust me you have seen nothing yet. Here's a brief info about this amazing group: BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, recently 25 *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year. -YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. There's no other group like them around and teaming up with this group from Germany just elevated them even higher. This single reached Number 1 best selling song in the US Billboard rock/metal chart for the first time for both bands! Last weekend of May they did the live premiere of this song in Japan at FOX_FEST (a festival held by BM) and everyone went wild with this collab, the live version is already out if you don't wanna stop enjoying this song. They played this together once again at Rock Am Ring and the day before at Rock Im Park in Germany twice in the same day, one during EC show and later at BM show. A week ago they already finished the Europe Tour at Resurrection Fest in Spain playing this collab once again in the same stage twice. The girl in the middle is the lead singer SuMetal and she actually dance less than the other girls (MoaMetal and MomoMetal) because she sings most of the time but regardless she can dance and sing and you won't even notice she's out of breath. About this song: This was filmed in Germany and the concept of the MV is they're breaking boundaries with the genres and they don't care about corporation decisions. The "hips don't lie" is definitely a Shakira reference. The "Fu Fu" part sounds like Backstreet Boys - Everybody female backing chorus but it's also used in Japanese karaoke as well many others songs. The "push it to the limit" line it could be an homage to Scarface's movie, another post disco, dance rock song with some guitar elements. The moment when they're bursting the wall is another homage to Aerosmith x Run DMC - Walk This Way MV, symbolism of breaking the boundaries with the music genres like I already said. Also one of the singers is holding up the cable with electricity during the breakdown it could be a reference to "The Cable Guy" movie. When I heard the official audio I thought the second "Are you ready?" chorus was MomoMetal doing the backing growling but they didn't show that in the MV, although later fans spotted in the live performance, so it was her after all as well in the third chorus when singing "Everybody". There's probably more references but I'm a little bit far away from pop culture nowadays that I'm probably missing a lot more. Fun fact: EC said in a reactor comment and later at their own reaction video that they did the bursting the walls scene in one shot, there will be a bts so we're waiting for more. The crew had to put all those disco ball on the celling manually just for this song. They met each other last year when BM went to see EC live in Boston and they asked them to work together, this is a 50/50 collab song. Moametal comes up with the choreo ideas, and she simplified the moves so Kevin and Nico could join in. Just a great video, and easy to miss where Momometal also adds her screams in. Like in the breakdown, Kevin says "are you ready" followed by a deeper "are you ready", which is Momo's scream.

This is on the lighter side for Babymetal. Their songs are generally (not all) heavier than this. As others have stated, you would need to listen to more than just one Babymetal song, as they do have diverse sounds.

Great first reaction. As I'm sure you know, this is a straight collaboration between the two bands even though it is very much in the Electric Callboy style. BABYMETAL do everything. That's one reason their collaborations all work so well, they are so versatile they can do pretty much whatever style and match up with whoever they are collaborating with (eg with Bring Me The Horizon on their song 'Kingslayer' ... there is an official live video for that from when they performed it together early in November in Tokyo last year for the first time - it was recorded in 2020). In their own songs BABYMETAL mix things up even more than Electric Callboy and they are the best live entertainment of any kind that I've had the privilege to experience in person. They are a live performance act and they need to be seen and heard live before you will know what they are really about. I don't know what BABYMETAL song you may have heard before, but the instrumentation is very much metal for most of their catalogue. They pioneered their own metal sub-genre fusing metal with J-Pop hooks, melodies and aesthetics (including introducing choreographed dance to metal ... yes they did that - but not choreo as you may know it from pop acts etc, BABYMETAL's choreo is bespoke for each song, it helps with interpreting the meaning of the song or a lyric, but most importantly it involves and includes the crowd). They have gone on to mix and blend so many more styles with the metal. They are both original and unique. With their beginnings in JPop their vocals are clean (the whole concept was formed around lead singer Su-metal's vocal talents) although historically they have included growls and screams in many of their songs (generally on backing track with additional instruments like synth, piano, strings etc). The original third member Yuimetal left in 2018 because of poor health. Su-metal and the other original member Moametal continued as a duo for 4-5 years supported by 3 dancers who would take turns in the third spot. On 1st April 2023 the last of those dancers was revealed as the new official third member. She is Momometal and it seems she can growl (in this song the second "Are you ready" and both "Everybody"s were her). They have nearly 70 songs now, each one different to the last - some are good hard metal, some lean towards their pop roots, they do everything in between and they will also mix and blend in so many other musical styles and genres with the metal. Pick any live BABYMETAL song, you can't go wrong. BABYMETAL is a Japanese kawaii (cute) metal group (a metal subgenre that they created) that formed in 2010 when the 3 girls were 11-12 years old (yes, they were very young), and since then have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Download, Sonisphere, Glastonbury, etc), US, and Asia. They are the first Japanese band to perform at Wembley arena in the UK. Also, 20+ awards have been given to them. They have 60+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too. Also, they released a new amazing album last year and they just finished a world tour where they had many shows here in the US. If you are new to babymetal, similar to me I’d recommend listening to their other recent collab song called “leave it all behind” and also “metali” those two are more inline with their performance in Ratatata in my opinion and they appearing to be maturing in their sound with the new member momo. I am excited to see what they do next and both groups gained a fan with me for this song

EC put on a great show live, saw them at Sonic Temple this past May and are probably the best band I've seen so far. That may change though when I see Babymetal live come November. For suggestions: EC: Hypa Hypa or Pump It Babymetal: Road of Resistance - Live in Japan, Monochrome Live at PIA Arena or Piano version on the first take (Even better, do a double reaction on the versions) or Headbanger live @ Legend 1997 (Legend 1997 is named after the year Su-Metal, the lead vocalist was born, not the year the concert takes place)

Well it is a clear 50 / 50 Collab. Both were in slightly unknown territories. So Babymetsl took the step to Karoke Motives and in the Breakdown both Groups used a much deeper interaction since Momo and Kevin shared even their growls.

As a former drummer and someone who likes Electric Callboy, you should really check out Electric Callboys "Kurwa Song" - Davids drum solo based on Darudes "Sandstorm". This should be a no-brainer for a drummer, right?

Well I think wgat you realized was simply a total breakdown of Moas Choreo and she simply dropped theirbmovement zo a Single move, so that they could get at least a few scenes in the camera. Kevin was onviously quite down and Babymetal and the Camera Crew voted for an additional day of shooting. Something that Electric Callboy wanted to avoid. At that day they made the slow moving parts, to get a few additional filler.
