At 5:37 Douglas actually says it’s “regrettable” that OJ is now known for the murders he committed and not how great of a football player he was. To think that killing two innocent people outweighs his athletic accomplishments. What an embarrassing statement.

There have been a few biographies on the O.J. Simpson trial. One biography had an interview with one of the jurors.A woman who was,at the time of the interview,in her late 60's to early 70's. So at the time of the trial, she was in her early to mid 50's. She was asked if it (O.J. being acquitted) was because the officers who beat Rodney King were found not guilty. (?) She nodded her head and said "yes".

I do not know sports or who OJ was, but I am interested in court cases. My father was a judge, so I know little about court cases. After watching "The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story", I learned about OJ and felt that something was missing. Since then, I have been researching OJ's case. I have watched the case again and again. My brain never could figure out that someone could murder two people within 30 min who had Artherris and his children sleeping upstairs. I have been a defender of OJ since then. Salute to all of you.

I gotta say I don’t really buy Carl Douglas’s words that it’s regrettable that most Americans won’t remember OJ as this great football player. Well yes Carl that’s what happens when you most likely killed your wife, beat up your wife and then proceeded to do everything possible in the aftermath of the trial to get attention . I actually liked how a reviewer for the Oj documentary pointed out how odd it was for OJ to essentially commit a crime he was convicted for , do public events, and date women who looked like Nicole after the trial was over. It’s like Oj wanted to get caught. Like the guy beat the system…sure he had destroyed his own reputation mostly (although the series points out that OJ did try to get attention the nonwhite communities, heck he even got Wendy Williams to hug him even after she said “I think you probably killed her.”) but he was in the clear. Yeah he was liable civily (he looked even worse there) and that absolutely dented his marketing, he never got a major gig after the trial and he was forced to sell most of his stuff to try and pay, but even then he refused to actually pay for the entire court order. Like all he had to do was pay up and not get into trouble. But he couldn’t even do that. It’s just football. It’s a game. It’s not life altering. But certainly domestic violence, killing your wife and her friend, and then committing armed robbery are much more important things to judge a man by.

Why is it that when a person feels a certain kind of way. Everyone else must feel that same way too? I'm referring to Dan's comment, that the majority of Americans felt that he was guilty. That's bull shit, cowardly nonsense. Perhaps the majority or large percentage of white people felt that way. But at the end of the day. It's best to ask the individual vs trying to reassure his insecurity. I don't believe that Simpson killed Nicole. And I'm not the only one, of many. Based on the case, lack of evidence and evidence to back up that it was impossible that Simpson killed Nicole and Ron. And sadly. Many don't care about Nicole or her children. All that many saw was a modern day Othello. And that showed, when Johnny Cochran's family received racial death threats, phone calls.

OJ Simpson was a great athlete in college and Football in the NFL and as a actor, but he was a horrible human being and he managed to get away with a double murder only because of his rich status as a celebrity mostly like a white man would do. Ironically he got convicted for other crimes not related to his murder with kidnapping and theft as well paying civil damages of US$33 million to the Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman family. May the souls of Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman rest in peace. Simpson legacy is one of a celebrity to fall from grace as some other famous people have disgraced themselves along the way.

If you zoom out and think about what his life has probably been since then, I’m sure he’s gotten dirty looks and d**th threats over the years for basically doing the “best” work of his career - his JOB isn’t just to defend the innocent.. it’s to defend defendants.. and he did that.. so to continue to do that, you have to be calloused to the opinions of the people saying that you’re aiding criminals.. because our whole system falls apart without highly capable people doing the job he does.. And when you know that you’re upholding a system.. AND that people are mad at you for doing it, you probably see those people as understandably emotional.. but also flawed in their reasoning.. and I’m sure he’s seen plenty of hypocrisy from the saaaaame mob of people.. I think it’s weird, but so is his life, so is the system and so are people.. one thing’s for sure, this dude is not living in a black and white world.. it’s allllll grey for him..

OJ Simpson was surrounded by his children and some other notable people. Sometimes a person wants to clear their conscious when they are on their death bed if they are trying to make amends. I am not saying that OJ had anything to do with the two murders that happened that evening. It would be nice to know if OJ talked about Nicole and Ron at all on his death bed. If he did talk about them; what did he say? I am sure Nicole's two children said something about their mother during one of their visits to OJ death bed visits. RIP to OJ.
