Yes. A very large portion of people have lost their ability to think critically and instead believe the absolute worst things the Internet can put in front of their eyes. Qanon believers have absolutely lost their ability to think and to question the internet. Instead they question reality and scream at anyone who disagrees with them.

Better be careful in handling the aftermath of this riot. Being too harsh on those involved, the ones you can catch, will result in galvanizing those that may not necessarily agree with them at this moment, turning them into sympathizers. You could very easily double the number of your opponents over night by being too harsh with them. Depending on how you handle this it could determine how your immediate future plays out. Handle it well and with compassion and it is likely you wind up with a peaceful future. Handle it poorly, exacting your revenge, and you are looking at a very combative future, possibly one that sees a legitimate war break out. Do not make the mistake of thinking those people were entirely alone. They did not riot in a bubble.
