FORMWORK | Mattapan Station in Boston, MA realized with PERI SKYDECK (EN)

Located adjacent to the Mattapan MBTA Red Line station, this mixed-use redevelopment project consists of 135 residential units, 10,000 sq. ft. of commercial and retail space, a 70-space parking structure, and 50 surface parking spots. The large structure was realized with the PERI SKYDECK system. The slab formwork system with dropheads was used for the first level structural slab and second level post-tension slab. Additional over 4,000 sq. ft. of PERI PD-5 10K shoring was used on the project.

1994 was the first time i used peri formwork. The beams were used as strong backs for large curved walls. Good stuff.

it is a pretty good system but after 30 years of doing it along with Topec i think Topmax is one of the best but if you work with Peri they 99% of the time find a fantastic solution no matter what, it is bulletproof ..if you really break the code on how to use Skydeck it is really good, but it is a lot of parts and needs almost as much crane time as fixed decks and under a time limit all the time you feel the pressure since it is faster to set up than to tear down and the concrete comes on Friday no matter what :)

The peri system is great but the company delivering the concrete is a suspect with poor quality concrete I hope the building doesn’t fall apart in a few years
