Elvis worked a lot on his career from an early age. By the age of 18, he was already doing two shows a night and driving his own car between cities. Then he made about 3 movies a year for 9 years in Hollywood. And finally, in Las Vegas, he performed for 7 years an exhausting show twice a night, 7 times a week with rare breaks between tours. And died of exhaustion.

"Hound Dog" has been recorded more than 250 times. The best-known version is the July 1956 recording by Elvis Presley, which is ranked number 19 on magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time; it is also one of the best-selling singles of all time. Presley's version, which sold about 10 million copies globally, was his best-selling song and "an emblem of the rock 'n' roll revolution". It was simultaneously number one on the US pop, country, and R&B charts in 1956, and it topped the pop chart for 11 weeks - a record that stood for 36 years. Presley's 1956 RCA recording was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1988, and it is listed as one of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's "500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll".

Slow, yes. Retarded, maybe. Braces on his legs... But he charmed the pants off Nixon and won a ping-pong competition. That ain't retarded. He was a goddamn war hero. You know any retarded war heroes?

I just LOVE the idea of this. Elvis making friends with a disabled boy, playing music to entertain him, and learning something from the boy that he can incorporate into his performances

I bet Forrest’s mom was really ticked off at Elvis, because she thought he was mocking her son’s physical disability. Although, Forrest seemed like he didn’t mind, for the fact he’s 1 of the many people who helped Elvis made a difference.

Also kinda angry that he used her songs dance as plagiarism to get famous. I feel that his family coulda sued the movie for this one since it is insinuating that he didn’t come up with the moves on his own but stole the moves from a child which is defamation of character. Obviously just something for the movie not to be taken seriously, but still didn’t paint him in a good light.

It's great they casted Kurt Russell as Elvis since his first film was him kicking Elvis leg at a theme park in one of his films and played Elvis theme films later on. Also Tom Hanks as Elvis manager in another film. If only the kid playing Forest would do a Elvis film and this scene would come full circle for Elvis.
