Thanks for the great demonstration. I' sure glad I bought the RCBS Automatic Priming Tool. The RCBS uses shell holders so it doesn't require setup - just snap the correct shell holder in. Most everyone has a set of shell holders already, so this isn't an additional expense. This is a good tool for sure, I just prefer the RCBS. Thanks again for showing it.

I have the (now discontinued) RCBS APS bench priming system, but your review is making me seriously consider getting the Forster unit when I inevitably can no longer get the priming strips for it. Your idea to drill out the wood block for the tubes was a nice touch that I'd like to use when I get mine. btw...just one little note about the priming unit built into the Coax press that you may not already know is that the seater is designed with a positive stop that ensures that, no matter how hard you press down on the handle, the primers seat the optimum depth just below flush from the back of the case head. It sounds as if the dedicated priming unit works the same way.

I've used a Lee Auto Prime and Lyman E-ZEE Prime. Due to arthritis, I bought the Forster COAX priming tool. According to the literature, it seats primers flat. CCI recommends .002" to .005" deep. I don't think flush is bad however, I emailed Forster about this issue but never got a response. Keep an eye on the primers since they are fed by gravity, you can get jammed up. I like the jaws that hold the case, no shell holder needed and you do get a good feel for seating the primers.

my rcbs bench priming tool is pushing the primers in crooked and smashing the in the brass all kinds of bad ways. I have to get rid of it. the rcbs shell holders let my brass tilt and move around. I am going to try this one. thanks! I didn't even know about it.

Great review. I've been hand priming or using the big Redding press and that is tedious and time consuming. I've asked "Santa" for one of these. Let's see if he comes through.

Thinking of buying one

I use a Lee turret press and I prime, expand the necks and powder without touching the case but one time than I rotate trhe turret and put the bullet in the case. Finally I crimp and done. I only touch the bullet twice. Putting it in the shell holder and taking the finished round out when it's done. It can't get any easier .

Just a note to tell you that I used your idea with the 2x4 block and the RCBS tray and the little cut out. It's been working great. Have you seen the new Primer Tube Loader that just came out from Forster Products? I just received mine today and it works much better than our RCBS loading tray. You should look into it! Thanks again for your excellent idea!

You can use the notch cut in the back of the tool to load your primer tube the same way you used the flip tray. Not really practical but it can be done.

I don't mean to criticize but I would not put my hand in front of of a primer like that. If one goes off it could blow half your finger off.

Why not make sure that you are truly saved by Jesus Christ and practice this way. Remorsefully confess with your heart your sins to Jesus Christ who is God and tell Him that you right now are repenting of your sins and you want to be born again of the Spirit from above. Tell Jesus that you are remorsefully sorry for breaking His commandments and that you are begging for forgiveness from Him. Allow His blood from the cross to wash away your sins. After this is done with your heart successfully the Holy Spirit will come to live within you and He will rebuild you from the inside out. Look for signs that you are saved. Things like spreading the good news from Jesus, getting other people saved, a craving for the word of God, reading the Bible, etc… These things are known as a calling and fruit bearing. If you're not bearing fruit then keep doing it. Sometimes it takes time to get saved. Read Matthew chapter 13 from the King James Bible. God bless!!!!!!!
