Fort Bragg Bass Fishing Hurley Lake

I went and did some bank fishing on Fort Bragg, North Carolina at Hurley Lake. Hurley Lake is one of the intensely managed fisheries on post, and although it was the first warm day of the spring, and very windy, I was still able to catch three small bass. I caught all my fish using a Mojo Bass Rod and a spinnerbait. I tried using a jerk bait, drop shot, senko, but the fish just didn't seem to want to munch on those.

Excellent video! Do you have a favorite lake on Bragg for bank fishing? No boat here and looking for fairly easy access around the lake with hopefully good results! Thank you!!

To be honest. I don't have a lot of experience with many of them. I fished this one in the video and theres another lake just south of that that I fished. It actually had more bank access then because the controlled burns cleared most of the underbrush away.

Enjoyed this video. I have a grandson who will be moving to Vass, NC next month as his parents will be stationed at Ft. Bragg. He is an avid bass fisherman. Can you suggest any fishing areas near that community that he might be able to fish? He is moving there from Florida and is worried that he will not be able to find any good fishing spots. Thanks for any info you might share.

Sorry for the late reply. I missed this for some reason. On Ft. Bragg there are a lot of small lakes or ponds. Some are managed and have pretty decent bass. For larger lakes, Jordan and Harris are both about 30-40 minutes. They have some big bass. The pros slayed this year in the spring

Don't know if you have a grandson still here, but I fish bragg alot and there's roughly 5 intensively managed lakes. 4 for bass, crappie, panfish and 1 for catfish exclusively, which is McKellars. But on Vass Rd, you have MacArthur, Keist, Sliver Creek, Holland, and Mott lakes. The first 2 are intensively managed to produce bass. The others benefit because of stream and creek connections. I'm actually hitting a string of 4 lakes tomorrow out there. All bank access, MacArthur being the biggest and most accessible.

I'm also from Florida (pensacola), been around Bragg since 2006. Med retired in 2013 and my daughter lives here so I stayed to be close.
