Naw. Not without Reeves and I doubt Keaton would want to do voice work for one animated film that won't get a theatrical release let alone multiple. The comics are enough and honestly unneeded. Especially when there are still classic stories from the books that haven't gotten their due adaptation.

@@Retron518 Burton had to be convinced to make Returns. He didn't want to do multiple movies at all because the studio didn't agree with him on what the films should be and because he doesn't care for doing sequels. This comic is far from what Burton wanted to do, the script was rewritten at least 3 times after Burton left to get to this. Not to mention McDonald's and toy companies at the time didn't want to make toys for movies that honestly weren't kid friendly.

A second series is coming out called batman 89:echoes with scarecrow and harley quinn based off a scrapped sequel to batman and robin with harley being the joker's daughter and they showed art of scarecrow unmasked where he looks like jeff goldblum(which means he is the burtonverse scarecrow).

@@Mexican20067 Why wouldnt he, not only did he create magic with Burton, already tested time and time again, with characters that had an edge and hint of darkness, but bro also got range in acting, his more grounded character work is off the chain too. Him in Secret Window, a mystery suspense thriller that shows a novelist gripping with reality slowly losing himself as he realizes all the murder death of his close love ones not only does he knows more than he lead on with, but he's the true villain of the story and its great damn movie/premises and yet similar to the premises of the White Knight series inna way and he would absolutely murder it. Now he could take the Joker and make it his own like Heath and Joaqinn have done, maybe an obscure comic like the Whit Knight or maybe the Joker book they say include some of his worse deed in media. Dont let the Jack Sparrow bs fool you, dude use to body movies on a consistent basis.

@@lostintheark5728 not even that I just know him for Jack Sparrow like he’s done many films with Tim, such as Sleepy Hallow, Sweeney Todd and Dark Shadows honestly the list can go on, I just don’t see that the Joker role is for him. Look he is talented but that don’t mean every role is for him and Joker is one of those roles tbh. But you really never know just look at the hate Ledger got before the movie came out, now he’s a really respected figure in the fandom. Know who would in my eyes be a perfect Joker in a live adaptation, it’d be Willem Dafoe.

Direct sequel novel On April 11, 2024, it was announced that a new novel would be released which would tie-in to the film. Announced with the title Batman: Resurrection, the novel was to be written by author John Jackson Miller, and would act as a direct sequel to the film. The premise of the novel was to be set in between the events of Batman and its sequel Batman: Returns, with Batman focusing on dismantling the remnants of Joker's organization while contemplating on the idea that Joker might not actually be dead. The novel would also include certain characters introduced in the sequel, with one example being Max Shreck.

Finally got around to reading this a month or so back. It's okay but there are some issues where the writing is concerned. Showing how Two-Face percieves fate via the coin toss is intersting. An entirely differnet outcome plays out in his head as the coin flips and so forth, showing his separation from reality. But for the climax in the batcave it was so poorly implemented that no amount of rereads could help me make heads or tails of it (no pun intended). Then there was Selina's random outburst towards Bruce at the end that genuinely came out of nowhere. No build up, no indications that her's and Bruce's relationship was coming to this point. Just "how dare you complain that I saved you by un-aliving your best friend, rich man." It took me out of the story and her sudden betrayal by sending Barbra the picture of Bruce in the batsuit with his mask off made no sense at all because, again, there was no indication or build up that there was tension between them. It just happens. Loved the Burtonverse take on Robin. He and Bruce had some great back and forths. Barbara was intersting but the way the story was written to basically put Gordon down so she can stand on high was really poorly done. Have them butt heads, sure. But to completely assasinate his character by making him incompetent was stupid. The comic as a whole is worth a read, but certain story beats, as well as the final act, fall flat. And the writing for some of the characters was just awful at points. The artwork is amazing though. Top notch work.
@Matuatay
@Matuatay 3 ай бұрын
I agree with this take. Especially with the third act in the Bat cave. They're suddenly there, the while thing with Two-Face seems rushed, then Selina's sudden lashing out at Bruce with emphasis on his money and privilege provoking her anger felt like it was put there more for modern sociopolitical sensibilities rather than natural story progression. I think an animated film with some additional scenes written in to pad some of these quick jumps within the graphic novel could end up being successful. Especially if they can bring on some of the talent from the original Burtonverse to reprise the roles in voice form; Keaton, Pfeiffer, Williams, etc. In the right hands and carefully planned & written out to work out a few kinks, I think this could be a very satisfying animated follow-up to Batman Returns.

@@FortressofSolitude1138 I know but Tim Burton definitely had some input when Sam Hamm was writing the duaology. This story lacks the gothic aesthetic and stylistic choices that gave Burton's films an identity.
