Per the UKFortuna Twitter account (twitter.com/UKFortuna): "Really interesting take on the club’s history. There were a couple of things I would have included, mainly the 'fact' that Fortuna is the only club to be relegated to the 4th division then work their way back up to the Bundesliga. This ties in with the promotion game against Hertha BSC in 2012 being a great moment for the club as they beat Hertha in the playoff to get promoted. Norbert Meier (coach) and Andreas 'Lumpi' Lambertz we’re integral in the “rise” of the club. Otherwise, really cool!"

Well done. Great video about my club. You didn't mention Andreas "Lumpi" Lambertz. He played for Fortuna during all 4 Leagues. He's very important for our club history i think. Greetings from germany

I loved this player in my Fortuna career back in FIFA 12. He scored 21 goals to help me get the club promoted. It was strange as he is not known for his goalscoring and never replicated such numbers again in my playthrough but I have always remained an admirer of him and Dusseldorf to this day.

Thanks (or DANKE). A great summary of what I need to know about my Budesliga adopted club ready for the re-start next weekend. Even though Newcastle is twinned with Schalke's town of Gelsenkirchan, and Borussia MG have reached out to Toon followers to support them, Dusseldorf is the only German city I have visited and is also the location of the classic geordie comedy tv series Auf Weidersehen Pet. Besides, until our prospective take over next week, it wouldn't seem right to follow a team that didn't have a negative goal difference and wasn't struggling in the bottom half of the table!😄

Hi, well done mate.... some more facts: You missed out Goalkeeper Toni Turek, who won the World Cup with Germany in 1954. Peter Meyer scored 119 goals! The first big historcal rival of Fortuna was FC Schalke 04. Before the 2nd world war Schalke and Fortuna were the only real successfull teams in the whole Rhine/Ruhr area. Dortmund played no big role back then. There was a friendship match with a 70.000 crowd in 1931 between S04 and F95. Fortuna helds the German record of 18 consecutive cup match victories between 1978 and 1981. Heinz Lucas and Dietrich Weise were great Managers in the 1970ties. Fortuna was the first German club to play in Africa (1928), the first to sign an African player (Charles Gyamfi 1960) and the first Greek player (Maik Galakos in the 1970ties). You spoke of 6 lost finals in a row (5 Cup and 1 Cupwinners Cup) but there was one more: In 1936 Fortuna lost the final for the German Championship against FC Nürnberg (1:2 aet). Then there were two 2ndBundesliga Championships (1989 and 2018) no major prizes but probably worth to mention. The 2018 title was celebrated likea big one. Finally worth to mention are friendships of the Fortuna fans with the Tractor-Boys (Ipswich Town) and Atletico Madrid. Cheers!
