given the 2004 ford gt could only do 75 miles to a tank, I'm guessing that would actually be pretty inefficient. for those of you who don't know. during that GT's development ford got nearly to the end of the project before realizing that they forgot to give the car a permanent fuel tank. as a result they had to get clever to find a place to put it. They didn't find much space, but it was enough to get the car around town.

The RPM are not the important part of fuel economy. The power usage of the engine is more important. In the video you can see, that he hasn't the most fuel consumption in the limiter, because the engine hasn't the most power at max RPM. Every engine has a range of max-power, which often is around 1k RPM under max-RPM (for petrol). For example: My 318i consumpts 30 to 40l/100km at 800 RPM, when I let it roll, but only 8l/100km at 50 km/h with 1,5k to 2k RPM.

SCFC family no the less rpms the fuel being used so the more engines that the car has the less rpms is not using so much fuel when there is a high rpm and when you red line it, it will lose fuel but with 2 engines it would use less with 2 engines than 1

no, you would multiply half of an engines rpms by two because there are two engines... so it would be the same if not more.

@@dakotabrown4855 You divide the work for 2 engines but they still need to make the same amount of work overall to push the car so if the 2 engines weigh more than one engine it's less fuel efficient because of higher work required to push the car forward because of increased mass.

I dont personally understand, why Nick is so surprised. This Focus is producing so much boost on a small 4 cylinder, while not in anyway shape of form being as aerodynamic as a Koenigsegg One:1. Surely by logic, the Focus would 'win'.

RELATED: 2019 DODGE CHALLENGER SRT HELLCAT REDEYE REVEALED At maximum speed (remember: 203 mph) the Redye can drain its entire gas tank in as little as 11 minutes according to BGR. That's guzzling 1.4 gallons per minute.

@@alexsupertramp4907 The car would still be using gas when you're not on the throttle. Otherwise the engine would die every time you get off the pedal. I think you have no idea how a car works

It's actually quite logical that the Focus is less fuel efficient, the car is made to do short track races of only a handfull of laps which means the tank really isn't that big

Just because the car runs out of fuel quickly doesn't mean it's not fuel efficient it could have a very small fuel tank to save weight.

The P1, LaFerrari, 918 Spyder, and the upcoming C8 ZR1 all have hybrid drivetrains that are *NOT* intended for efficiency. The way they work is to fill in torque gaps of the gas engine by suplimenting with electric power. This is nothing like how a Prius or Volt works, which uses the electric engines as main movement power until the vehicle has reached a speed that the gas engine can efficiently take over.

9:45 its a rallycoss car they go around tracks that is under 2 km long and go multible heats that is 3-4 min long makes sense they dont need to be an endurance car

Video was more about what car depletes it’s tank fastest rather than which one used the most fuel. The Focus may use less fuel to complete a lap than the Koenigsegg, but runs out quicker due to having a smaller tank. Not really a true test of economy.

Pretty ironic for a Ford Focus rallycross car to have an engine called "Ecoboost" where it is in fact the least fuel efficient car in the whole game. Much like they say the twin turbo V6 of the Ford GT burns more fuel than a Viper.

IRL one of the least efficient gas powered cars in the Chiron. It takes around 8 minutes of flat out to burn the entire tank

The RS RX runs out of fuel quick because the top speed of 140 mph is easy to achieve, and rallycross races aren’t that long.

The 1:1 can only go 1⅓ lap, not even, around the Nurburgring. I tested it myself for trying to set a lap time for 2 laps and ran out esy early

Forza Motorsport 7 most fuel efficient car is the formula 1 Ferrari Alain Prost. If you drive that car on The Le Mans circuit, it will do 24 laps before you have to refuel.

i honestly don't understand why nick was surprised that the hoonigan for focus ran out of fuel so quickly, it's not aerodynamic and it has an engine that's massively tuned

Its more about the size of the fuel tank. Its a rallycross car they have to complete 4 short laps so there is no need for a lot of fuel

Just tested my maxed out Q7 V12 TDI (without spoilers) with the TDI engine in it on the Daytona circuit and have managed to get 121.8 miles out of it while sitting pretty much at 200 mph the whole lap. I did do 5 laps another time in it at 60 mph and it only used like 1.2% of fuel at 1.2 k RPM. I need to test the other Audi TDI to see if that’s any better plus test the Q7 stock at top speed to see how far it can get.

Audi V12 TDI. Just did 5 laps/12.5 miles at 50 mph at 1k RPM and only burned 0.6% of fuel. At 60 mph I could theoretically do over 900 miles to a tank within a 24 hour time limit at Daytona.

In Forza, If you want your fuel to drain, set your Damage to Fuel & Tires or Simulation.
