Nick. There was no switch. The restrictor plate when torqued down with the intake piping it would cause a slight gap allowing air to go around it (was around 15% more air over what the restrictor would allow) but because of the washer spring design it would go back to how it should look when the intake piping was taken off.

I don’t want to be that car nerd, but Toyota had a restrictor that was automatic, because at a certain air pressure from the exhaust, it would come out of the turbo, ever so slightly, which would allow more air to flow in.

Nah this thing looks sick. A proper good visual upgrade to the pop up headlights on the previous years’ model. Also one thing to note about the restrictor thing on the WRC; Toyota’s points were only disqualified for the 1995 season, the car wasn’t permanently banned.

There was no switch to operate the turbo restrictor, it was a piece of metal that looked totally compliant when inspected but under load would flex and grant about 50 hp more

Had a Celica as my first car, absolutely loved it! People love the look of it as its a pure work horse Coupe, great for off roading and city driving. It may not be pretty like a lambo but it looked intimidating at night with 6 lights on 😁

that isn't exactly what happened with the inlet restrictor on the turbo. Basically Toyota made it so when the air filter piping was unbolted from the turbo for scrutineering it looked like there was a normal air restrictor on the intake side of the turbo, but when they bolted the inlet pipe back on it would open up, effectively meaning there was no restriction on the turbo.

It was something to do with the restrictor seals expanding and pushing it back letting airflow in... Whenever it was taken apart, it wasn't even noticable... Donut has a video

Ive always seen the Celica as the Baby Supra because the SUpra (If I remember correctly) Started as a Celica and the ST205 kinda looks like the MkIV so yeah

This car gave me a memory, I was so happy I wanted to cry it was in a rally mobile game I used to play when I was 7 and the design was the same as well. Forza and Nick gave me happy tears ;D. The game is Pocket Rally it's 0.99$ there is a free version

Who else is having trouble with the out for the count season event. Im choosing the g65 which says is an eligble car, it meets the restrictions of A class and is 800 but when i go to start the race it doesn’t let me pick it even tho it meets all requirements. Please help

It needs to weigh enough, something like 4500 lbs. If you make it lighter its probably too light.

If you haven't already, you should do a video with the Shelby Monaco. It can have more HP than pounds it weighs, and do 0-60 in about 0.8 seconds. Also has grip like nobody's business.
