One of the strongest AWD cars in FH4 returns, now it is even better in FH5. The GMC Syclone is now available in FH5 from the Series 22 update.
With the OP V8 swap and meta build, it currently sits at the top of A-Class.

GMC Syclone A-Class Performance Review:
One of the strongest acceleration in A-Class for an AWD build. With the meta build of V8 engine swap and full aero, it is currently one of the strongest A-Class car (or in this case truck) in FH5.
However to drive the truck to its full potential, you will have to constantly tap the handbrake to keep it in a microdrift state. Manual clutch is also needed as its stock transmission's gearing is pretty tall.
Brakes are also a weak point as sometimes you carry so much speed going into the turn from its sheer acceleration.
Overall an alternative meta for A-Class. The purist version however makes the truck more balanced.

The Diablo and the V60 were the stars in this, my God that Volvo is FAST and the Lambo could make it all the way as clean as possible even without the AWD and the weight of a small mountain.

was a great race the last one, so many guys trying to win haha. Im in the honda nsx " Marchzin" i tried to keep clean but seems i was lagging a bit, aniways was nice playing with you, i didn't know it was possible because of the server distance, im actually from Brazil. This car (...or truck) is one of the most anticipated additions for me, so being good in races is a nice bonus. It's just silly to have what is essentially a GMC Sonoma absolutely dominate other cars that would initially seem to blow it away.

they had a gmc sonoma equivalent called the typhoon. the syclone and typhoon were beasts for their times.

Well I mean if you slam a truck to the ground, give it AWD and a powerful-for-the-era turbocharged engine combined with relatively light weight to competitors you'll make a supercar killing truck of the 20th century too.

I'm really glad this is such a good car but the best thing is that it's not bugged. Haven't driven either this or the Typhoon yet but they're both capable of .02's at HMC with the LS which is good to see.

The stock engine might be "balanced" because of the power curve. It may be making close to that 566 horses throughout the Rev range whereas the LS swap only hits 700hp for a split second but falls well below that before and after peak power RPM. It averages out, I guess? Well, either that or that isn't actually "566hp", kind of like how the mere 360hp on the base Buick GSX moves that vessel faster than a HEMI Charger with 425hp. It's weird, I don't understand how it works, just trust the process.

One pet peeve of mine is that the bottom half of the car can’t be painted. Other than that I reall enjoy this Syclone. How about typhoon though?

How do lap times compare to the bone shaker? I yearn for the day the bone shaker is dethroned, but I’d hate to see one of my favorite vehicles (Syclone) become insufferable to race against

An Older baseline time at HMC for AWD Boneshaker is 1.02.00, the LS Swapped Syclone can hit a 1.02.25 so pretty comparable. The RWD PB Boneshaker is a 59.8 so a bit off that but those are pretty rare since most people can't drive them. The Boneshaker times are older though but I don't know anyone who runs it regularly to get a time off of. In a real race though they should be really close regardless.

Very good, it's not quite meta but it's close. It's way better with Engine Swaps but even purist it's still a very solid choice. KapienPL has a more Power focused build with the Viper V10 - 161 381 078 AMS Carver has a more handling focused build with the LS V8 - 341 852 151

Definitely tuning yourself because ultimately preference on how you want your car to handle. To a certain degree of course.
