Having enjoyed this review and others I have just ordered this model for £101 via Amazon UK Ann now looking forward to hooking it up to my new Pioneer CD player and Celestion book shelf speakers on wall brackets. I shall let you know how it goes and if it doesn’t it’s easy enough to return the goods !

In my opinion, when you upgrade the removable Op Amps - in particular, with the likes of discrete versions from Burson or Sparkos Labs, the sound qualities of the BT20A Pro will be elevated substantially - that is wider soundstaging, a tonal quality approaching class AB amps, more depth, and smoother (less harsh) transients and instrumental timbre. I was pleasantly shocked at the audio reproduction when this was accomplished.

I wish they would have incorporated an input selector within the power switch such as on/off, BT, & RCA input. I purchased this unit about 6 months ago and haven't even opened up yet. I plan to use it for a little bedroom system with a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 12.0 bookselves and a WiiM Pro streamer. Should be awesome!

I've been running a BT20A Pro with my turntable setup since June, awesome little thing with a quite pleasant sound. Probably not going back to traditional Class AB amps any time soon 😅

@@tenida_chatterjee Haven't experienced any overheating problems. But that said, I haven't been running at more than quarter volume max... Which is more than loud enough for me 😅

I've had some very nice and expensive tube amps, e.g. Cary, but this little Fosi beats them sonically and power-wise. And the price! It is one third the cost of the TKD volume control on my old pre-amp. Well, I'm getting older now, so I doubt I'll ever buy another amp.

New audio enthusiast here. I'm planning to setup the best, simple 2.1 I can, for music and movies. I'm thinking the HSU hybrid 3 with CCB-8. It's 2 CCB-8 bookshelf speakers and a VTF-3 MK5 (15") subwoofer. And power it with this Fosi. I'm wondering if this would work? So I would stream movies from my TV with a set of RCAs to the Fosi Audio BT20A Pro? Then line out to the speakers and the preout to the sub? And all my music would come from bluetooth on my phone I guess? Or stream through my tv. I don't need any other receivers or DACs or anything else right? I don't have any other equipment right now. In the future I may expand to a proper 5.1. Thanks!

The BT20A Pro does not have a line-out to powered speakers. However, from what I can see online the CCB-8 is not a powered speaker, but a passive one, so maybe you mean speaker-outs to speakers, not line-out to speakers. If that is the case, then it should work, but I can't fully recommend it, because the pre-out to the subwoofer will be affected by the tone controls on the Fosi BT20A Pro. This is what I do, and the pre-out is not powerful enough for my subwoofer (vintage Yamaha NS-W1) If the VTF-MK3 can crank up the volume from a weak signal, then it should work OK. But like I said, I can't fully recommend this set-up.

Hi, and thanks for the review. I am far from hifi knowledgeable person, but I appreciate good sound. I understand that the bt20a pro has a DAC paired with the bluetooth receiver in order to convert the digital to analogue, internally. How this DAC compares to a descent DAC in terms of quality?

Since the Bluetooth is version 5.0, it is not capable of streaming lossless quality audio. Therefore, from a tehnical point of view, it is not as good as other DACs. Whether you (or anyone) can actually hear the difference is another matter.

The Pre-Out is a full-range output and can be used with any 2.1 speaker system or anything with an amplifier.

@aureliuse3469 the general rule with all audio is that the more links they're are in the chain, the lower the audio quality will be - at least in terms of objective measurements.

But non of these having remote control ,?? For avarage room size like 12/12/12 FT which is good? Za3 or BT30A ot 20A? And speakers, I can use subs?

If room size is the deciding factor, then the focus should be on the loudspeakers first. An amplifier will only power a loudspeaker, but the room will be filled with sound depending on the size and ability of the speaker. You can use a powered-subwoofer with the pre-out, but I wouldn't 100% recommend it, as the pre-out is affected by the tone controls.

Afraid not. That's a very good question, though. Since the pre-out is affected by the tone controls, I should be able to find out, using it as a preamp into a headphone amp, then take some miniDSP EARS measurements. I'm genuinely curious too. I'll get back to you on this soon.

Since I have not heard any of the Quad items in question, it is impossible for me to answer. I can only say that these new D-Class amps use much less electricity than those older A-Class amplifiers. (Class denotes power topology, not quality) For a long time audiophiles have claimed that A-Class (non-stop power) has always provided the highest quality audio, and D-Class the worst. However things have changed radically in the past few years, and many are making the switch to new D-Class amps for the simplicity, affordable price, high power, clean sound and tiny footprint.... my BT20A Pro is totally dwarfed by my old massive headphone amps 😅

I heard of my friend befor few days ago, FOSI in rang with some amplifires and better than more expensive? FOSI Is new generation? And for last, tell me whats the name of your microphones stay front your speakers? Using for what? And the name of your speakers?

@@oliverosrecki7421 I mean... as long as they keep sending me stuff, I'll keep reviewing their stuff. It's not that difficult to believe - many other audio YT'ers do it. I have no idea if Fosi Audio amps are better than much more expensive amps. That's why I reviewed this item as a product, not from a marketing/audio perspective. I don't use microphones that stay in front of my speakers - I don't understand your question. My main speakers are the Yamaha NS-615B - the 'home' version of the infamous NS-10 studio speaker.

I've not tested the ZA3, but it's quite a different design under the hood. But they both use the same amp chip. Not many people are comparing the two from what I've seen. From a very fundamentalist consumer perspective, the BT20A Pro is more of an all-in-one solution, while the ZA3 is aimed for towards people building a larger system, with larger loudspeakers in mind.

I was wondering if the soundstage/imaging would be very different with the Za3 but indeed : nobody really compares these 2... I think I will have to bite the bullet on the Za3 when it available and perhaps try the monoblock setup even though my current speakers are not too power hungry ;)

I bought two of these with the Fosi 48v PSU's. Both idle warm then overheat and shut off after about 10 minutes of playing music. Serious bummer. My Fosi BT30A's had no problems, just didn't sound as good. These are crap.
