The Fossil archetype is really cool and under explored

Fossil Fusion got it’s inspiration from the fossil wars/bone wars. It actually occurred and a lot of questionable acts occurred.

This deck is actually really hard to splash into most decks, because the fusions all require atleast 1 Rock monster. And 3 Weathering Soldier isn't enough to facilitate all the fusions you wanna do

It is pretty rough, especially for the broad majority of decks. That's kind of whats been really cool seeing all the suggestions so far! There's more synergy than I'd given it credit for, just in a less conventional way.

Well you could line it with the gem knights. A mix like that works on a number of levels.

You can add 2 copies of nibiru, 2 of kongreat and add 1 copy of each the new fossil effect monsters, and you will have enough, remember you can use monsters from both graveyards, I use them with kaijus and harly lose from time to time

Goddam I want some more fossil cards so bad. I was so happy to see them finally get printed and I'm still grateful they're now in the real game but they don't really have their own legs to stand on, you have to mix them with other themes. Thankfully there's still quite a few anime exclusive cards Jim played including a field spell that could easily bring them full circle. What they have already is solid, there's just not enough of it.

My choice for a Main Deck to complement the Fossil Extra Deck is Triamid. All Rock type, Anti-Meta that can stand on its own while fueling the GY with Fusion Materials. Tech cards include (but not limited to): Primineral Kongreat Nemeses Keystone Tackle Crusader Revival Golem Koa'ki Meiru Guardian / Overload / Wall Magnet Reverse Magnet Force

I've been more a collector than a player in the last many years after I returned to Yu-Gi-Oh. I'm interested in both Fossil and Triamid and I was wondering if they would mix well together. Thanks for the tips.

I believe they're based on the same thing actually, as early paleontologists pretty much actually did that. Because nobody knew how these skeletons were supposed to go together, they ended up accidentally putting pieces from different creatures together and calling the resulting abominable horror a new creature. The fact that this usually came from British museums specifically is the reason why the Galar fossils are like this. Whereas in Yugioh they probably based it on the event (called the bone wars) as a whole.

I came back to this video after thinking about a Fossil/Megalith hybrid deck. Considering Megaliths are all Rock & can use themselves as the Ritual spells, they can easily put material in the grave to be dug up by Fossil Fusion.

1 year on i have started playing fossil adamancipators due to the prank kids hit and honestly it's so consistant, took it to a event and came out first after 5 rounds.

@@GoldenNovaYugioh okay so, here’s the thing, the electromagnet versions of Alpha, Beta, and Gamma all have that quick effect that let you send them to the Graveyard to do a thing, and because all of them are rock type it sets up the graveyard for fossil fusion plays on top of getting you advantage off of their “send to grave to do a thing” effects. This also gives you the option to set up for Berserkion but the main thing is that, I think it’s Gamma, let’s you dump a rock monster from your deck on summon. Normally you’d use this to get delta into the grave to set up for one of the magna Warriors but instead this kicks off your fossil plays by dumping weathering soldier into the grave to get your fossil fusion and fuse into whatever using the weathering soldier and whatever is in the opponent’s grave. Add to that the fact that most of the support intended for magnet Warriors like magnet rise and the magnet warrior field spell double as generic rock/machine support and it becomes a super versatile deck.

Gamma ss a Magnet warrior from hand, Delta is the one that sends a MAGNET WARRIOR from deck to gy. Not any Rock monster! Magnet warriors have synergy, but a bit slow for today's format

I do hope they make some new Fossil Monsters. Maybe include a Fusion for the Fusion monsters thatve been defeated or a couple of main deck monsters to help them with this like a Rock monster that lets you fusion summon with it and a monster on your opponent’s field and treat it as Fossil Fusion.

3 Fossil Fusion, 1 Time Stream, 2 Weathering Soldier, 3 Flint Cragger, 6-7 fusions including at least 1 Skull Bone and 1 Skullgar. With the King, Convoy, and the fusions that banish from grave to pop cards ... This archetype is great in Adamancipator I recommand

I was really excited when they announced fossil fusions. I can't wait for them to release the vehicle fossil fusions here in the US because they can get pretty powerful. Especially skull Wagon I think it is. When picking an archetype I went with triamid. Mostly because it is a very obscure Rock archetype that focuses on shifting around field spells to gain their benefits and to summon their boss monster, triamid Sphinx, very quickly. They actually Play Rather well with fossils. We just need that last little bit of fossil support and we would be golden

Oh yeah, it's certainly easy to plug Fossils into Adamatia. I guess the question is: "Does it actually do anything for the deck that would make them worth the inclusion?"

@@GoldenNovaYugioh Actually I do not know yet, I really just want to experiment(for example I once tried to mix odd eyes and Metalfoes). However, Koaki Mei'ru has been working out by giving me a few negates on board along with a possibility for a Synchro or XYZ summon with my adamancipator tuners (which sucks that there is only three, but I do admit it is fun to risk it for the biscuit). A good friend told me they work well together. So I was thinking of throwing some fossils in there just to see what happens just because I feel like if you be the guy who is nice like when I was playing a tournament at lionheart games in Waite park mn my opponent said he got a bad hand and I said he could Mulligan.

when there was even the chance of these being printed from the ocg anime character poll, I lost my mind. Then they won the poll and I lost my mind again. Then we got them in battles of legend. Fossils were so cool and it's even cooler that they're printed.

I'd like to throw in Trimyids into the ring for fun Engine....they protect rock monsters and allow you to summon your other fossil easier, plus great targets for granite so you can fill the grave with more rocks monsters

Fossil Warrior Skull Knight isn't actually a retrain of Skull Knight since original OCG name is Skull Bishop, Upper Deck poorly localized the name same with Cyber Stein because it isn't a part of the Cyber archetype. Edit: Pachycepalo isn't a part of the archetype also

The whole smashing fossils together to create new fossils is a reference to how the U.K. would royally (pun VERY intended) fuck up fossils and mix and match them into abominations then pass it off as science, pokemon also roasted the U.K. for this with their fossil pokemon in Sword and Shield

I wonder how would the monster "Shell Knight" help the deck Especially with the its effect of "Add 1 Level 8 Rock Monster from your Deck to your hand, or, if "Fossil Fusion" is in your GY, you can Special Summon itinstead, but you cannot activate cards with the same name as that card"

Good targets are Gaia plate , Block Dragon or if you run magnets you would search for Berserkion.

I still remember playing Skullgios against my friend in Duel Links. She had a Sacred Beasts deck, and was kicking my ass, but I saw I could make Skullgios, swapped her Uria’s stats around so it had 0 ATK, THEN NUCLEAR STRIKE, 7000 POINTS OF DAMAGE.

How would "Flint Cragger" help the deck? As it has a "Fossil Fusion" searcher effect if it is Special Summoned by discarding a card. And has a "500 burn damage effect by sending itself to GY" that, if you activatewhile Fossil Fusion is in GY, let's you return to GY 1 banished Fossil fusion or 1 card with fossil fusion in its text

Absolutely love this archetype in Duel Links, it needs a ton of support though. More starters and fusions and add some negates, PLEASE. Or if it is gonna be a beat down still just give it more protection. Fossil Fusion’s targeted protection isn’t enough and one can only rely on Catapult Zone for so long. They need so much love.

fun fact jim describing fossil fusion as "mashing a 2 fossils and making a new one" and the fossil archetype being fusions is a reference to how early paleontologist would mash bones up and make up creature and fool people into thinking they actually existed

As this video is over a year old, I’m sure you have been informed of this already, but the concept of “smashing together a fossil with another fossil to create a new fossil” likely is a reference to the early days of the field of archeology. Was it called the fossil wars or something like that? Eh, can’t be bothered to look up the name. Paleontologists were eager to gain recognition for discovering new species, and would rush to assemble as many fossils together as possible, many bones getting mixed up in the process. I’m not sure if it was done intentionally or if it was a case of “they fit, they must come from the same dino” accidents, but either way, at the time, many “new fossils” were “discovered” due to the “fusion” of various existing fossils.
