Foul Play: the Shady World of Football Match Fixing

Across Asia, millions of football fans passionately support their teams, with no idea that often the outcome of the match would have been decided long before the game begins.
A sophisticated network of match fixers have an iron grip on the game, players on low salaries are vulnerable to bribes and coaches who raise questions are removed by team owners.
This film compiles evidence of corruption across Asia, and follows the trials of a British coach doing his best to steer an Indonesian team to success in an environment which doesn’t necessarily want him to succeed.

18:13 you need a trustee, someone that knows the language customs and can serve as whip. I'm almost certain these players weren't taught tactics, positioning, and using spaces; that takes years to implement into one player, yet alone the whole team.

So this documentary give me all the perspective that the reason why'd Indonesian football cannot be grew up sport if they still under control the government. poverty still around Indonesian local player so all the player will always choose the mafia money aside achievement personal or club. a lot of political reason for the democracy country especially for the election matters and the football was the great ideas.

Im sorry but are you dvmb or did you not aware of what happened to our Indonesian football in early 2010 when the goverment back then (SBY) didnt want to get involve and fix our football association? Just curious.

Here few things that happened to our football in early 2010's. The chairman of pssi at that time, nurdin halid refused to resign eventhough he was involved in a corruption scandal and was sent to prison. The supporters were enraged, the players were confused then come the dualism in both pssi and domestic competition. Our football regressed so bad to the point our national team LOST 0 - 10 to Bahrain in 2012 (YES YOU READ IT RIGHT WE LOST TEN TO NIL). ALL HAPPENED BCAUSE GOVERMENT AT THAT TIME DIDNT GIVE A SHIT. Then came new goverment with Jokowi at the helm. He dared to do the unthinkable which was to INTERVENE PSSI ans as result we got banned by FIFA. But it was a necessary considering PSSI had just elected another incompetent man, named La Nyalla as new chairman. The initial journey under President Jokowi was rough BUT we can see its bearing fruits right now with our football national team winning SEA Games after 31 years and qualified to Asia Cup after 17 years. SO TELL ME AGAIN WHY GOVERMENT SHOULDNT GET INVOLVE WITH FOOTBALL AGAIN?
