With respect, can I just say, to clarify, there is a way back......with support. What Sergi does is in the miracle category. It's sad that people are judged and told to pull themselves up by their boot straps! This is totally unrealistic and ignorant. It just retraumatises them over and over, sometimes leading to suicide.

I was thinking the same, but also how important it’s to have a few people around you that are willing to bend over backwards to get someone on their feet again ❤

@@carolineramage7480 how could this kind of help lead to trauma? I also think that what Sergei did stands in the “miracle category”, but staying with people who just want to lift you up is therapeutic, rather than traumatising

@@nicolagherardi7531 You have misunderstood. I was replying to the previous comment from "whorror", implying that "anyone can recover". Saying "you can recover" to someone who has no resources is cruel and destructive. Sergi isn't telling him to get on with it he is giving him practical, relevant and appropriate help. Bravo Sergi! 👏

I'm sorry to say but trouble times in this world can push a mother to desperation ... and with no services that may not be available or the mother may not have known about. I'm sure didn't help .... please don't take offence at my reply ... ..

His mother felt overwhelmed. He was angry and acting out at times perhaps in his frustration. Somehow he found his way out of a prison sentence of loneliness and neglect. woohoo. But his mother did the best she could. I don't blame her.

@@teresacaldwell0220 Yours is a very kind and compassionate comment. For many people, what they see is not completely clear to them, they don't think about the underlying conditions. Nothing against them, but some of us see these types of things and follow the family to feel empathy for their plight. Stay safe and may you have joy and peace.

In cases where the knee-jerk viewers will not or cannot see two sides of every story (lack of empathy and compassion) give no further nor insightful thoughts to it... just assumptions based on pseudo-information . We don’t know under which medication he currently is. This may explain his apathy. But he is collecting all this moments deep inside

@@gewa994 None of the currently drugs cause so much of apathy it's the disease. It's not the drugs. My wife is psichiatrician. It's the problem which need medication to solve. Beleve me. Or no medication but just more time. None of medication do this to person. He needs more time + psichological help + medication. And medication will even would increase chance of his recover faster, i don't want to go in to details but it works. And how it works i don't want to go in to details.

@@GordonIsFreeman - One area I could explain is that post abuse something happens in the brain, it becomes always serious. Others around can laugh, joke, enjoy, but the serious is always there, it is difficult to laugh, the question is why not able to laugh, something blocking it. Maybe possible to smile and feel level sometimes but deep joy is difficult. But it doesn't mean there is not thoughts about it, what is taking place etc. This is a lifelong 'block' a child psychologist from London explains it in a lecture, her name is Camilla Batmanghelidjh.

@Janitor Queen English is not my native language and i don't care to write it properly on youtube comments :) she's psychiatrist. And drugs probably would help him to cope faster with all that traumas etc. Drugs don't heal they help to cope to in best case scenarion at the end of it heal. They will not heal to remission, they help you to cope untill you figure out yourself how to live like you have to, these psychiatry meds not meant to heal they never heal anything, the person who takes it heal itself with help of drugs. Ones learn to cope in life and "heal" get in remission other don't and just take the drugs all their life, but it's also nothing bad about it. Also it very depends on the disorder in example schizophrenia is antypshicotics all your life, you will not get in remission with it etc. Sorry i don' want to expand on this topic.. just my 2 cents. Well you understood me well so your comment to correct me wasn't that needed but it's ok
