PLEASE FILL OUT THIS METAL DETECTING SURVEY: bit.ly/2N4JLzI
It's short and will only take a few minutes. Every answer is greatly appreciated!
On this adventure, I headed out to go metal detecting at a new permission. The yard had lots of ground disturbance, but I was able to locate an old workshop that turned out to be a treasure trove. I sifted through all the boxes of old rusty metal, and managed to discover arrowheads, relics, and other interesting pieces of history that were long forgotten. Hope you enjoy the video! Thanks for the support!
* All filming and searching was done on private property with owners permission. The old workshop is in the owners backyard, and it hasn't been used in a long time. It was apart on an old farm which dates to the 1850s. It has since then been passed down in the family.
Please be sure to subscribe if you enjoy my videos: bit.ly/nuggetnogginsub

About Nugget Noggin:
Hey! I'm Michael, I love to get outdoors and discover awesome things
with my metal detector. I started treasure hunting when I was 12 years
old and shortly after received my first metal detector. Since then, I've
been hooked and just love going out to search for the unknown. You
may see me in the woods crawling under an old house or diving down
in the river to search for rings. Wherever the adventure brings us, I'll try
my best to keep you entertained.

The round piece with two slots is part of an old electric cord plug. It sealed off the wire connections so you couldn’t touch them. Obviously the blacksmith tongs, blower and drill have some value. Good stuff. Blessed.

This reminds me of going through all the drawers and bins in my Dad's shed after he passed away. He died in 1999, and had been a mechanic, an assembler, fisherman, boat builder, and a member of Nascar (1963/64,) plus was a very good carpenter, plumber, and jack-of-all-trades. Having been born during The Great Depression, he never threw anything away. That stuff was there all my life, but I never felt comfortable going through his stuff until he'd passed and I pretty much had to. Amazed by the wonderful relics I found! That's history, right there at your fingertips!

The black disk with two rectangular holes is used on old electrical plugs to insulate over the screws so the wires and screws don't get messed up and short out. If you have an old fan or lamp with a two pin duplex conector. Sometimes they had a handle area but most old ones were just round.

In the old box, was not years of collecting, it was a lifetime of projects. I do the same, when I disassemble something to see what makes it tic. Or when I have a build project that does not require a certain item recovered from my lifetime inventory, or that I had found, salvaged or purchased. I place it in my box labeled, "Miscellaneous To Sort and Arrange." It is a lifetime of projects you are going through young man. Remember, every single nail, bolt, pin, screw, clamp, connector, etc. etc. was put the box, one at a time as the person thought, maybe it could be used at a later time. Wonderful looking through the old box of rusted memories with you. I hope whoever finds my box of Miscellaneous to sort and arrange, takes the same care. Greetings from an old Man in Northern Michigan. I truly enjoyed your video.

Whoa Nugget, that little tool shop is a gift that keeps on giving! 4:48 looks like a weight used with a balance beam type of scale. I thought I saw the beam leaning in the corner by the box of bottles. The small box of assorted bits had a button hook, tool used to aid in fastening shoe buttons. All those smithing tools, that blower, the hand operated drill press...if the owner plans on discarding all that stuff offer to haul it away for him, I wish I could! ONE THING, careful of bottles found in sheds! Farmers used them to mix chemicals like pesticides and herbicides. Some are toxic and were banned long ago but can still be potent. People still find old containers of stuff like DDT in old farm sheds.

One other thought, suggestion from the old Man in North Michigan. Explore your find further, look in the rafters, look close to the foundation and under the floor boards. Look for large rocks or outhouse locations around the building. Here, you will find the secrets and the treasures of the lifetime projects. Remember, what is valuable, does not get thrown into a box of miscellaneous to sort and arrange.
