In this week's motorhome life video we visit two villages in Northern Spain. Jaco, the jewel of north Aragon and the little known Navarre village of Olite, which surprises us in several ways. We explore the most amazing castle we have visited to date and try some cake with the most unusual ingredience.
Thank you for watching and supporting our channel, we always appreciate it! We love hearing your opinion on the places we visit and the things we do so feel free to drop us a comment below.

You are correct about the campers - you can always tell those who are occasional, once or twice-year getaway rental campers and those who choose it as a lifestyle or are very frequent campers. The occasional user just seems to think that they are at home and carry on whichever way they want - they treat it like a "hen and stag" weekend. Frequent campers choose it because they want to get out into nature and enjoy what it offers. After camping for many years, we can no longer do it, and are substituting cruising for some of our away times. When we had our first cruise in 2016, it was a decidedly different demographic, than what we are seeing now. Many more people, new to cruising are on the ships now, and the general decorum, if you will, has changed. Louder, more boisterous, boorish, heavier drinking, and generally inconsiderate of others. Not a lot different from what we are seeing more and more, generally in many aspects of society.

We couldn't agree more, Paulette. Sorry that you are suffering the same effects on your cruises. The world is a very strange place at the moment. 💜🤟

Hey Suzie and Lee..! Alison here. I'm not keen on hot cross buns as it is, so I was probably less likely to be keen, but it was a really strange taste. I don't think I would have it again, but it was good to try it. For Darren, the jury is still out. 🤣 Thanks ☺️ Happy advance anniversary for May..! Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟

I've read the. comments about camping in Spain and was not going to comment but we have a property in murcia nextdoor to a casa rural. The Spanish set up to 4am talking and playing music it part of their culture. Live and let live we have found if you tell them they are to loud they apologize. Enjoy the journey and don't get to stressed .PS we camped in Britain for years you get good and bad ever there 🤟

Mucho amor Alison y Darren💜🤟

Absolutely gobsmacked by that castle 😍 And you could overnight in Olite too, what a winner! We would love to go there. It sort of looked like a lego castle mixed with a Game of Thrones set. The views, blue skies and cherry blossoms topped it all off. Beautiful location. More astonishing of course was how cheap it was (that would without question be £15 each here, at least) but then even better they have heritage days where things are free?! That's exactly what we should do here for families with less income so they can enjoy these kinds of historical days out occasionally. It's funny you mentioned a Chinese, we had one in Spain and it was easily the worst Chinese we've ever had 😂 We didn't see many there outside of Benidorm type places, so figured it wasn't a big love of Spanish people overall, certainly when compared to here. A lovely video guys and you could see you were enjoying yourselves wandering free. Much love as always ❤🤟

Hey guys..! Olite was blissful. So clean, tidy and smelled really good too. We were amazed that it wasn't busier, with it being the former home of the Kings and Queens of Navarre. It must be busier in the summer though, as the 'Old Palace' the other side of the church, is now a Parador Hotel. I think the UK does have Heritage days. Well, Norwich used to have a Heritage weekend, in August I think, where the churches, Cathedrals and museums were all free. It's a great idea to encourage people to check out their local history. We don't tend to see many Chinese restaurants either. Bizarres yes (and we are so thankful for those), but restaurants no. In the larger towns they sometimes have Japanese all you can eat restaurants, we loved the one in El Verger, not far from our village. It must be becoming more popular though, as some of the supermarkets now sell sushi and dumplings. We hope so anyway. 🤣 Let us know when you go to Olite and we'll try to meet you there..! 😬😍 Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟

@@findingxanadulife Yes you'd think it would get busier based on all that, how lovely though to be there without tons of tourists descending at once. I think we won't be able to get back to Spain until 2025 but nothing is certain yet, of course I'm sure we will manage to bump into each other again sometime, some place! Having a look, it does seem we have Heritage days, a Heritage week in fact, in September. I'd honestly never heard of it. Well I never, England is not always so tight after all 🤣 All you can eat Japanese sounds just the ticket, not sure we've ever been to one of those, but the few times we have been to a Japanese restaurant we've loved it ❤️
