Lancome Renergie Lift foundation is long wearing, medium to full coverage, and formulated for mature skin. It’s a beautiful foundation and would be a good choice for foundation Friday.

I’d love a video on what you do to “touch up” makeup you’ve put on hours before getting ready to go out to dinner. I always end up re-washing my face. Forgive me if you already have a video on this. Loved this because others have liked this foundation and the alcohol is a hard no for me. Thanks again for great content!

Most people re wash if you add more or touch up it just looks cakey! Pretty sure everyone re washes there really is no other choice and it’s best to that way you get that fresh just did my makeup face :)

I'd love to see that too. I have a hard time even touching up my sunscreen. When I was younger, I would just add more colored powder over it, but now, that would be a disaster.

I feel your pain. I used to be able to just touch up concealer/lipstick but now that I use RetinA my skin is a crumbly mess after several hours. Rather than fully wash, I can usually get away with using moisturizer as a "cold cream" to remove face makeup and re-apply, leaving my eyes untouched - they take the longest anyway.

@@michelleweagle4829 I don't re wash my face. I just don't have the time or inclination to do a second full face. If I wear makeup all day then want to touch up before going out to dinner, the key for me is to use blotting papers and get every bit of oil off my face first so I don't look cakey. I don't re apply foundation, just use concealer very sparingly where the foundation has worn off. Then lightly powder with a fluffy brush and loose powder to take away any shine and set concealer. Always apply new lipstick and a bit more blush.

I always appreciate your attention to detail, the alcohol content matters to me since my skincare routine can sometimes make my skin dry for my makeup, I definitely don't need more alcohol. This is my favorite foundation for my 51 year old skin. I wear a mask all day at work and it works great on my semi dry skin, love the finish.

Teint Idole is always in my kit since a Beauty Company sent me a free sample. I love how skinlike it is. I have fair, sensitive skin but absolutely no issues with this lovely foundation (alcohol content) It is one of the better ones and yes, what you put under it matters! I need a small diary for all the 'this goes with this, goes with that.' My mum has been using this foundation since I can remember and she's 91 years old. Her skin looks great. This foundation has a dewy finish that I find, does need the slightest finishing powder. Nice to see you try out this one. It's my next go to after my favourite, Mirenesse. Loving your new life and home Angie. Hope you are super happy❤

I am in my early 40s with normal to dry skin. This foundation works very well and doesn’t emphasize dryness or texture. It also is fairly transfer proof on masks (like yours). Love it.

This is my absolute favorite foundation. Been using for over 10 hrs and even at 46yrs old it works so well and doesn't emphasize wrinkles ect

The Lancome Teint Idole is my absolute current favorite foundation. I don't use primer, but I do use MyChelle sunscreen underneath. I always set with either my Danessa Myricks or Laura Mercier loose powder. I also use the Charlotte Tilbury setting spray to lock everything in. Seriously, I love the longevity as well as the way it makes my 58 yo skin look.

My daughter turned me on to Teint Idole this summer and I love it for my greasy skin, at least compared to other foundations. When I use Hourglass Veil as a sunscreen-primer, and the Hourglass translucent setting powder and setting spray, and it works out really well.

Hi Angie. It amazes me how sunscreen, primer, powder & setting spray can affect foundation appearance and wear. I really appreciate that you test different combinations for us. I laughed at the 24 hour wear claim. I wouldn't wear any makeup for 24 hours! Have a wonderful Fall weekend. ❤ ❤

Was really happy to see a Foundation Friday. I've tried the Teint Idole 24H and was a fan. The only issue I had was finding a perfect shade. I have a cool undertone and one shade was slightly too light and the next cool shade up was slightly too dark.

I used that for years and I loved it! Then I switched to Estée Lauder double wear and thought they were very similar. When I went back to Lancôme it seemed a little heavy. But I have a lot more texture than I used to so I may go back to it. 😊

Lancome trainers told me that you can mix their serum Genufique (2 drops) with the foundation if your feeling dry certain days too.., makes the application so smooth! Their SPF primer in50 is an excellent mix for the foundation as well….

I'm 33 so I would say I don't have a lot of texture but I have enough and found that this foundation really did make my face look smoother then normal. I do really like this foundation but not enough to buy it right now. (I got a sample size) I have many many other foundation that I need to get through and wear more of. I will definitely put this foundation on my wish list.

I love the Teint Idole stick foundation! It’s the only stick foundation I’ve ever liked! I put it on right after a primer when my skin is still moist and I blend it with my fingers. So great when you travel! Thanks Angie! 💕

Thank you for the review. I was always curious about Lancome foundation. My wholly grail is Estee Lauder double wear because it gives me a good coverage to hide my acne scars. I love how smooth your skin looked with this foundation. I am inclined to try this foundation.

This foundation has been my holy grail for decades! Really. I’m not exaggerating in the least. I’ve seen it go through many iterations over the years. Perhaps 🤔 that explains the discrepancies in order of ingredients (?). If that is the case, my guess is the newest version will have the ingredient listing as per the Lancôme site states while the slightly older version will be as you found yours…

Great review. I always keep in mind that we use oil to remove makeup in cleansers. It's very effective so I don't judge a foundation's longevity if I have oily skin and don't powder. It's natural for any foundation or makeup to start coming off if we have oily skin. Powder is key not because the foundation is not good but because if we don't keep oil away, it will remove the makeup. I've heard really good things about this foundation. I started using the Lancome concealer that goes with this foundation last month and I love it.

I've never worn foundation and have no idea how to color match it to my skin. I'm overwhelmed when a product has a dozen or more shades. Please do a tutorial on how to select the correct shade. Thanks so much for your thorough analysis on all the things from the beauty counter.

Go to a reputable beauty counter for your first try… And any drugstore will let you return a bad match. (Save your receipt..tho my CVS doesn’t require one. I DID buy the cashier a bottle of wine the other day!😂)

I almost always buy foundation someplace where an actual human can help me pick a color. However a lot of brands will send you a new color if you get it wrong on the website, they also have some pretty nifty “try on” technology. Another option is to order some sample cards with a bunch of colors, which many brands and Sephora also offer.

Ulta is a good place to start with all of the brands they carry. Especially if you can go when they’re slow and the associate has more time to spend with you. I’ve had good luck recently doing that.

I have this same foundation, and also had the same problems. I also applied it with a brush, and a beauty blender, but ended up liking the results of using my fingers to blend it. I also didn’t use a primer, or a powder the first few times I used it, and wasn’t really impressed with the foundation. Then I used Angel Veil primer under it, and Bare Minerals powder over it, and loved the look! It looked SO MUCH better!

Hi Angie I have super dry skin and wear this one all the time - it's a favourite, as it lasts me all day and has an excellent shade range. I don't need to powder it at all and in the colder months wear a hydrating primer underneath it. One of the best things is it isn't all over my mask - here in Scotland we have to wear a mask in all public places and I'm often in one for four plus hours at a time. It transfers a little (not powdered remember), but it isn't a mess when I take the mask off, as most of my other foundations are. I wear shade 008/091 and it's a fabulous match to me - unfortunately the concealer isn't available in a pale enough shade, which is a pain when the foundation is and incomprehensible really. I use either the skinceuticals mineral spf50 or the PC calm mineral spf30 in the colder months and ultrasun spf50+ when it's warmer - it sits fine over all these alone, or with a primer as well. It doesn't slide around on me and I'm never going to have an oil breakthrough as I'm so dry. I was surprised how well it works on my dry skin and originally tried it again last year, as all my others were a hot mess when wearing a mask. I have both rosacea and eczema and have no issues with the alcohol in the formulation, but I do wear layers of skincare underneath including spf. My skin doesn't like alcohol in spf (or other skincare), but it seems to be ok in makeup tbh. Best wishes. ps it's marketed to oily skin, but it works on other skin types and is worth a try.

THIS is my holy grail. Love it. Iam 65 and get compliments. I do use a primer called lawless and it's great. I don't powder, but set it with urban decay all night er and it's great. Lasts all day at work.❤

Love Foundation Fridays! Speaking of sunscreens, I used to use Australian Gold based on your recommendation. I loved it at first, but found it really dried out my skin, and so I had to stop using it (which I hated because it was so cost effective!). I picked up the Elf Holy Hydration Face Cream yesterday just on a lark (normally wear Ceave PM). I tried the Elf under the Australian Gold, and so far so good. It pays to go back and try different combos with different Sunscreens! Can't wait to hear more about your new sunscreens you mentioned today. Thanks Angie

I used this foundation for years with the old formula. The new formula did not work for me at all and I was so disappointed. I even went to a Lancôme counter and had them match and apply. It broke down after just a couple hours. That was years ago and I’m willing to give it another try. Since MAC discontinued my HG original Pro Longwear foundation, I’ve been in the hunt for a good replacement. Thank you for trying different SSs and primers.

I’ve worn this for years and love it because my skin is super oily and textured. I’m 52 I love the look of the Chanel (your holy grail) but it slides off my T zone halfway through the day and is very drying on the rest of my face. It is velvety and beautiful at first though

Thanks for this confirmation of my experience and beyond what I've tried so far! I bought this foundation as part of a sample pack to get the right shade first time out and it is truly a perfect foundation. For me it's the best on my skin. I'm 57 and have combo/dry skin. I don't use primer but do use chemical sunscreen under my foundation. This absolutely makes me look poreless without looking like I'm heavily made up. Doesn't dry out my skin, but gives a natural matte finish. Price is a little high (my age actually LOL) but I think it's worth it to no longer have to keep trying different foundations, only to get close but never quite perfect.

I just bought your HG Chanel Foundation finally! I always hated that I had to buy at Nordstrom or Sephora. I wish you had it in your Amazon store! This foundation is everything you have always said it is. I am 55 and used to have oily skin when I was young but since about 40 it’s been getting drier. The last year I have been looking for something that has good coverage for redness but doesn’t look cakey so a more natural finish which I have never thought I would want. Thick makeup on older skin is not good even though I don’t really have many wrinkles but there is some crepeness, redness, uneven skin tone… I didn’t use a primer and this didn’t slide around and I could get good coverage where I needed it but it wasn’t opaque and thick. Where it did rub off a bit it did so in a good way. It looked dewy and nice for about 8 hours and passably good for 15 hours. It felt light and nice on my skin. Game changing! I love this and can’t thank you enough for this recommendation. .

Thanks so much for all the informative videos you post, you have such a great way of presenting. I’m going away towards the end of November for seven weeks to a tropical island (first long haul travel since 2019 😳) but was wondering if you had any tips for skincare products and makeup (in addition to above)(including how-to) for hot and humid climates. I don’t want to use products that are just going to cause me to sweat profusely and then my makeup to just slide off my face. A video would be great if you can 😊🙏

This is a foundation I could wear when I was younger and actually put my daughters onto this but as I have gotten older and my skin even drier I can no longer wear it. I also find that no matter what I do it just does not last on me and dries me out incredibly. It also tends to settle into my lines and age me further.

It has alcohol so it’s a no go! Did you not listen in the video?? All Lancôme is crap there ingredients are terrible. All that money And they put alcohol as the third ingredient? And you support that ?

@@susanbailey7361 I have this foundation ant my skin is sensitive. It really doesn’t bother me, but everyone’s different. What I DO find is that the octinoxate makes it OXIDIZE under a MASK. It doesn’t without a mask. The 100 Ivory(N) leans rather pink. Estée Lauder has better undertones for me.

This foundation has been in my top 3 for about 3 years now, especially for the Winter. I use cream contour with no problem & only set the t zone. The only full transfer proof with masks I've found is the Armani, but this one is still one of the best. So far this year I've tried the Dior Skin Glow, Pat McGrath and waiting for the Sephora sale for Shiseido Radiant skin and maybe the Tom Ford (only a few mature reviews...). I figure foundation is the one thing to spend money on! 🤍

Angie you always look pretty, I did think this makeup looked good on your skin. I really appreciate that you put so much into your test trials. I know you say you have wrinkles,pores and texture, but I think you have very nice skin. It's very hard to find anyone that has even skin tone all over like makeup does for the skin. What I notice a lot when you are sans makeup is your eyes,they are pretty and very expressive. Again, thank you for such great content 🥰👍👏
