@@protoborg not sure you understand what I meant. This game is voxel and is like amalgamation of the three I listed. I never said Minecraft was or wasn’t voxel. Seems like a silly question when we all know what Minecraft is.

I dont really think its comparable to satisfactory, other than its an automation game. The methos kf research is the main reason it feels so different. In satisfactory tou really need to master everything you learn. In foundry, you just need science packs to research new stuff.

Thanks, for previewing this game for us, Darren. I’m definitely interested. Doesn’t seem quite as pretty as Satisfactory, but the voxel system is awesome in Enshrouded and I’d love to see a factory game in that setting. (Loving that Manor Lords content, so Dealer’s Choice, My Good Man!)

As usual, your vid is a good one. if you build your foundations on top of the ore instead of the outer edges and leave the edges exposed the drones will start mining at the edges and then go underneath the foundations till all the ore is mined. This is actually more efficient. Doing it from outside the edge of the ore deposit causes production to slow as the drones begin to travel farther and farther from the machine. Love the vid though and I hope you continue with a playlist series.

i played this a while back, they certainly didn't have the tech tree that your seeing, lolz, was still great then, you'll get elevators and underground mines etc etc, fun times, I'm definitely going to revisit this game, great vid 😁

just a heads up, For your ceiling lights, there are power poles in the research tree that distribute a power range, so i believe those will power up the lights!

It'd be better if the styling was more unique instead of just practically a carbon copy of Satisfactory. Satisfactory is already pretty cemented in this space with a lot of polish and a large community, so attempting to measure up to that is a ridiculously tall order. If this game had more of its own identity, then it wouldn't matter as much that the mechanics are so similar. Just my two cents.

Not going to lie, this looks a lot of fun. My kids and i could play this for hours! Id enjoy it solo too. Still a bigger fan of satisfactory, but the terraforming would be fun

Factorio meets satisfactory:) and give birth to this little game, it’s a bit blocky but I like it. If you decide to go for the mini series I think the speed of this episode is the right pace.

I would like to see more of it, but at a much slower pace. I unerstand the speed to show the game. But a slower playthrough showing the building and process would be nice

Factorio machines work the same way, the inserters only put in enough for a few crafts at a time. I like it, but do wish you could adjust that on a per-machine basis.

definitely looks good, but I'm personally not a fan of finite ore veins for factory building. Something just doesn't feel quite right about building a big factory to automate something and then having it run out of its inputs, so you either have to keep building new versions of the same factory or keep trucking in ore from progressively farther away until it gets painful enough to build a new version

If the deposits were large enough, including massive underground voxel ores, and there are built in mechanics like drones or long range cargo ships then I would love to see a true unlimited world procedurally generated. It eliminates the agonizing over where I’m going to build everything when any place is technically viable due to the game wanting you to gather over long distance

Thanks for the preview. I think this is not for me, just too similar to Satisfactory (and little bit minecraft), which allready consumes too much of my time :D. More so, nothing against the developer people, but I'm not too good with paradox right now (Cities Skylines 2....). I hope for this game and the people that develope it, that they will have a good early acess and as they seem to have gotten some inspiration from satisfactroy maybe they also get some inspriation from the community management of coffee stain :).

I'm guessing this wasn't a blind play. Shame. It's always fun and realistic to see people enter a game they don't know anything about and watch them experience it first hand.

Its really not fun when I do that. Its me staring at screens wondering how things work. I played 2hrs before then doing this recording. It was just enough to give me the basics, but i only made the first tier of science packs. In this video I did discover stuff, such as cosmetics, painting, underground deposits and things like that. I wish I was the type of player who could make completely blind plays interesting (it would save me a lot of time!) but its actually painful to watch, ive streamed new games before and it really annoys people how slow I am to figure things out 😛

It really depends on what you like. Each factory game, be it Factorio, Satisfactory, Dyson Sphere Program, Techtonica, Foundry and several others all have unique selling points. The unique gameplay of this game is that you can destroy anything. If building a completely customizable factory is what you like, then this has far more options than Satisfactory for instance. It's also a random world each time, rather than a pre-defined world like in Satisfactory. It has a tech tree, rather than doing things by milestone, similar to Factorio. It has more focus on co-op play too. I think Factorio is probably the best factory game there is, Satisfactory is the prettiest, Foundry might be the most dynamic because of the voxel based world.

Looks cool, but I would appreciate a little bit more interesting graphics. Everything looks so ... plastic-y. Low poly, low texture res graphics are not necessarily bad, but you do need shaders. Valheim is a great example for this.

Overall Satisfactory interests me more, but the fact that there is terraforming amd a procedural world here is huge. I've gotten really tired of the single Satisfactory world and just want a new world to explore.

We went from Satisfactory being "look its less complex Factorio clone just in 3D" to "this game looks like Satisfactory" within a few years with every game that is about Factory Automation. EDIT: To be clear, talking about the comments not the video. The fuck? That is how genres work. Unique twists on the same thing. Gamers get more stupid every day. You seem like a genuinely reflecting and chill person. Weird to see you seem to attract a lot of simple minded or simply young people that dont know any better. You'd normally expect an audience like that with hyperactive and loud content creators and not here.

I think you’re focusing on maybe 2 or 3 comments. I understand where they come from, it is a bit odd though, as if there can only be one factory game and its all down to which one is best. I think a game like this will be perfect for steam deck as it gets more updates. Or just playing around with friends sometimes. But for others, they might only have time for one, and these games demand so much time they just want to know which is best, or want to see something that really pushes the boundries above whats being done already otherwise why bother. Just a different mindset I guess.

@@WhatDarrenPlays Yeah, it's only a few here but this type of comment (paired with people liking it) is under nearly every content that features Foundry. It's honestly so obnoxious that it starts to bother me more than it probably should. But I hate when I see people talk weird shit about the hard work of others and I think games like Foundry deserve all the success it can get.

The belt system and research is too convoluted for my taste. I guess Satisfactory spoiled me in this regard. The thing I never liked about Factorio is the science mechanic. Guess I will pass, for now.
