I am currently spending a lot of anxious energy on filling carts, wanting pens, and making plans so I thought I would update you on what has happened since the last video and where I'm currently focussing my collecting energy. As usual, this video is more geared toward helping me sort through my own thoughts and develop a plan that helps me stop overthinking. I hope you find some ideas helpful if you're stuck in a cycle of overthinking too.

I really found this type of video to be so helpful for me! Hearing you reflect on a lot of the thoughts and behaviors you have with and around fountain pens is insightful. I can understand the challenge with wanting too many things even on a no buy or break from buying, but the strong desire to get another FP or nib is constantly on your mind. I recently bought the Bonecrusher 7 Velma and it's my favorite hand turned pen in my collection. I like having just a "try" not only a buy category. I just need to get to a pen show!

Hey Simone! I just swapped nibs between two of my sailors, and it was honestly super easy! I watched the Goldspot's disassembly video they have for sailors, and followed Tom Otto's instructions without a hitch.

I have a Little Pen Co nougat pen using exactly the same grey lavender sparkle resin as yours for the cap, section, and end finial. It closes in the same sort of... unsatisfying manner. Not quite secure, and you can't risk over-tightening it, so it feels off every time I cap. Fortunately, the nib doesn't dry out, so the seal must be adequate. Hopefully, they work on the threading a bit more, because their pens are indeed gorgeous and write well.

I don't know about carbon black but Lindsey scribbles uses her pilot vanishing point with document black. She just cleans it after a certain time and reinks them again. Also papajaw makes such beautiful flower theme pens you can check them out too. Question does it mean the Earl Grey Tea and Matcha latte both I can buy at a later date since they are part of regular lineup collaboration??

Santini has a series called Toscana that uses cartridge/converters but to be honest the nibs on the Libra collection feel more like 'home' to use your terminology. But surely worth a try! 🌸

Azeezah got me eyeing another Opus 88 as well danggit! 😂 I will also add to the Bonecrusher 7 Velma model praise. It’s a large one but the body/grip is very comfortable and smooth - the grip almost just feels like it’s giving my fingers a hug haha; one of my favorites. I think you’d really enjoy it, just from learning a little bit about your preferences.

Is there a way to verify that a pen on Amazon isn't a dupe? I've seen amazing prices there but have been afraid to purchase in the event it's a dupe.

Hallo Simone, ich konnte dir so gut folgen, dass ich jetzt auch kommentieren muss. Auf Deutsch:) Erstmal zu Waterman Carene: ich dachte genau das gleiche und konnte den Hype gar nicht verstehen. Ich habe diesen Füller (the Black Sea habe ich) nur gekauft, weil er bei Amazon im Angebot war und ich zum Schwarzen Meer einen besonderen Bezug habe. Ich muss sagen, der ist gar nicht so dünn, wie er aussieht; sehr robust, schreibt super gut (in Fine) und das snap cap macht ihn perfekt für den täglichen Gebrauch, wenn ich schnell was notieren muss. Zum Benu: was soll ich sagen, ich fand die sooo kitschig, fast hässlich. Dann habe ich mal das Talisman Venus's Hair für FP Day (wegen ein Video von Toxmot) und... diese Füller haben was. Und dazu habe ich mit dem Schmidt Feder meine Tinten ganz neu entdeckt, fabelhaft! Jetzt habe ich paar Benus mehr, inklusive des neuen Matcha Latte, welchen ich gerade mit Robert Oster Khakhi voll genieße. Und als ich dachte, der hier ist der letzte Benu... Fehlanzeige! Es kommt einen neuen Talisman Sandalwood...oh Mannnn! Scribo: ich habe Feel Inverno und liebe ihn, der flex F schreibt wie ein Traum (bei dem Mosto mag ich die gelbgold Details nicht). Die sind teuer, aber der La Dotta Domus ist auf meiner Liste:) Das Problem ist aber, dass ich seitdem immer nur mit flex schreiben will, es ist einfach so toll! Deswegen habe ich mir zum Geburtstag dieses Jahr der Santini Libra Ambra mit flex fine gegönnt und Oh Mein Gott! das ist alles, was ich in einem Füller suche (aber ich mag Piston-Füller), mit Abstand mein Favorit! Und zuletzt, Leonardo (ach, diese Italiener): ich mag nur die Momento Zero Serie und davon Jade ist mein Liebling. Von Momento Zero Grande 2.0 kommt aber einen Füller, the Art of Guillochè Verdigris & Rhodium, den ich mir unbedingt ansehen würde....Pleite aber geil:) Ganz liebe Grüße aus Hamburg!

Den MZG Verdigris hab ich auch schon beäugt, aber ich bin nicht so überzeugt, ob mir die Haptik gefällt. Das wäre tatsächlich ein Füller, den ich gern mal anfassen würde, bevor ich ihn kaufe. Ich hab grad von Papier&Stift den La Dotta Studiorum gekauft (der Domus ist da aktuell auch im Angebot) und irgendwie fühlt der sich sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig an mit den Rillen… 🤔 Die Flex-Federn von Scribo sind übrigens wirklich der Hammer, das stimmt, aber ich mag auch sehr die Leonardo-Flex in 14K…😊 Meine Benu-Sammlung ist am explodieren und ich überlege die ganze Zeit, ob ich mir den Matcha Latte bestellen soll… 😂

@@Heidejournal 🤔ich weiss jetzt nicht, ob ich dir danken oder dich verfluchen soll😅...Auf jeden Fall hab ich den La Dotta Domus gerade bestellt und freue mich riesig (finanziell ein wenig unpassend vor dem Sommerferien, aber was solls). Ich stelle mir die Rillen, so wie Fingermassage vor und glaube nicht, dass sie mich stören werden, aber ich mag auch Noppen Sandalen, also... :) Bei dem MZG Verdigris ist der Griff glatt, den gibt es mit Steel Flex, ich weiss nur nicht ob EF oder F.... der muss aber erstmal warten. Und Benu Matcha Latte ist ein Schmuckstück, bin froh, dass Goulet endlich normalen Versandpreis haben. LG

@@eliz4eto Ups… nicht verfluchen, bitte… 🥺 Aber bei dem Preis dachte ich mir einfach, dass der Tipp dir vielleicht nicht ungelegen kommt… 😆 Schreib doch mal, wie er dir gefällt, wenn du ihn eingeweiht hast. Noppen Sandalen hat mein Papa immer getragen, die fand ich als Kind total komisch. 🤣 Und ja, stimmt… der Verdigris hat eine glatte Griffzone… das war mir noch gar nicht aufgefallen. Was mich auch ein bisschen davon abhält den sofort bei Stilo&Stile vorzubestellen (10% Rabatt;) ist die Tatsache, dass er von der Farbe her meinem Scribo Feel Verde Antico sehr ähnlich ist. Eine EF Flex hab ich noch nicht, die F Flex finde ich in 14 K super, aber Stahl… weiß nicht. Würde wohl eher zu einer M oder B tendieren. Und bzgl. Goulet… meine letzte Order hat gefühlt ewig gebraucht und mich schocken dann immer die Einfuhrgebühren, wenn der DHL-Zusteller 50 EUR oder so von mir haben will. 😬

I love that you are considering a Bonecrusher! I will not be making it to the SF Pen Show again. Too freaking poor this year! I have tried writing with a Scribo and really liked it, but not enough to consider spending the money on it. The Waterman was gorgeous to write with! Not sure why but it was really comfortable and the nib was fantastic! I don't think it is for me though in the same way the Pelikan M405 was. Too classy business woman. That is just my brain being weird, probably. Enjoy your vacay!

1. Save up some cash and get yourself a KoP. This Sailor Boi gives it his highest recommendation. Currently ridiculously cheap on Amazon. 2. I hope you do some drawings and share them with us some day soon. There aren't that many KZfaqrs doing pen & ink.

We seem to have similar taste in pens, and love for unique nibs. I would recommend the Edison Pen Co "Jameson", with Magna Carta #8 nib; also the Pineider "quill" nib might be of interest to you.

I think that 10 or fewer pens is about the right amount in order to avoid being overwhelmed by choice. Perhaps 6 pens that are permanent keepers and 4 spaces for rotating pens in and out of the collection. Of course there is nothing wrong with having more if it suits your needs or makes you happy. I find that having too many options makes me less happy.
