Thanks for sharing your beautiful pen collection. I'm especially partial to your Honeycomb color Esterbrook and your Montblanc 264 with that amazing flexible nib. 🖋
@HemingwayJones2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, My Friend! I appreciate it. Those are interesting ones. The MB is a joy to write with. The nib behaves like a Waterman 52, but with less line variation. The Honeycomb Estie is probably my most beautiful pen. Thanks and please drop by again. All the best.

Thank you so much for showing your current pen collection. You ask if there are any pens that viewers would liked to see reviewed. Personally I would be interested in the East German Heiko pen as I've never heard of this brand. Also, you whetted my appetite with the Fountain Pen Revolution pen which looks great. If that wasn't enough, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Cartier Diablo. I would love to know more about how you choose a fountain pen, given that your collection has many expensive models such as Montblanc but also includes others such as the humble TWSBI Eco. A great video, Hemingway, thanks for sharing.
@HemingwayJones2 жыл бұрын
Hello David, it is always a pleasure to hear from you. Thanks for your insight and for the great questions. I will take these topics up and make some videos on them. I would love to review the Heiko. It’s a cool pen. Thank you so much.

When I get home from a stressful day at work, I enjoy watching one of Hemmingway Jones's calming and interesting vids. I wish the people I worked with were as much of a gentleman as Hemmingway Jones is. And this collection is really nice.

Loved seeing your collection. I too have the amber Conklin Duragraph in a stub nib and I love the way it shapes my writing. I also have the Esterbrook Estie in tortoise and in cobalt blue. Both of those pens write so smoothly. Have you ever tried writing with a Conway Stewart fountain pen? It is probably my favorite fountain pen - so beautiful in appearance and in the way it handles.
@HemingwayJones2 жыл бұрын
Hello! I have a vintage Conway Stewart and it is lovely. I don’t have a modern one.

I want a bookshelf tour video. I like how you organize your pens and the leather cases are beautiful. I suspect the cases are out of my price range. I was relieved to see the Conklin and Twizbi pens. I was beginning to think you were one of those collectors who only have Montblanc and Sailor pens..😅 My Esterbrook Camden Northern Lights is my most expensive pen. Great video. I really enjoyed seeing your collection. Thanks for sharing.

That’s fun! What a cooolection…and that was 2 years ago. So, how has it changed? Did you pare down or ramp up? I do have a question about the Kaweko Sport(s) {and your new art sport}: what fill method do you use with them, and when/where do you use these pocket pens? Do you travel with them? I was having complete FOMO about the Hickory Brown, found one, and sat for 2 days to think about, then hit buy this morning!

Congratulations on the new pen! I buy the little impractical push piston converter, but I just like it. It’s so take these traveling and to the office. My collection has only grown larger due to the Channel. Thanks for watching.

I’ve been thinking a lot of my fountain pen journey and how I should approach it. And I decided that I do not want to buy the trending pens but I want to buy pens that are unique to me and those that I will treasure for a very long time which I hope may have a few limited editions as well as some vintage ones. For beginners, what nib types do you recommend? My first pen is a Sailor Shikori in medium and I have another pen in the works which is medium also. I have small handwriting. That’s the Twisbi I want in rose gold. I love that Diamine OxBlood ink. I was looking at Fountain Revolution pens, great tips. Didn’t know the Kawecos were that small. Thank you for sharing your awesome collection!
@HemingwayJones Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching all these different videos. I love to binge channels too. It’s best to go for pens that speak to you. As for nib choice… You write small, but write with Mediums. Maybe try cursive italic mediums at some point. Medium is nice because you get a nice ink expression; the inks can achieve their full characters. Thanks for the kind words!

I was unimpressed by the FPR flex pen I got. I have upgraded to a Pilot 743 and a Noodler's Triple Tail for my flex needs. The best thing about the Triple Tail is that it accepts the fabulous Noodler's 308 reusable screw-in, capped, heavy duty cartridges. Right now I have two focuses: 1) German beginner pens with nibs, and 2) anything Sailor.
@HemingwayJones2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried the Noodler’s and I really need to. The Sailor pens are pretty great. I don’t use mine often enough. Thanks for the great comment and all the best.

Do you have any suggestions for a step up after the TWSBI Eco? I currently have 2 (fine nib and stub) and I am looking to expand my collection to something nicer, but won’t break the bank. Any thoughts?
@HemingwayJones2 жыл бұрын
The Eco is such a great pen at any price. I love it. Still, you could go Vac 700R if you want to stay TWSBI. If you could stretch to $200 there is the Sailor 1911 with the 21k nib. It is exquisite.

Hello HJ. That's quite the collection of fountain pens that you have. My collection is limited to 7 pens and I enjoy writing with all of them. I keep no more then 5 inked up at a time and rotate the different color inks through my journal. Although few in number, they give me great satisfaction when I used them. This brings up a question. With so many fountain pens, do you find yourself missing certain ones? If so, which do you love but barely use?
@HemingwayJones Жыл бұрын
Hello Richard! Great question and I could, and probably should make a video about this. There are so many issues with having so many pens. Remember, many of these are gifts or promo pieces, and this adds to the collection. Otherwise, I would have far fewer. I also have probably 80% of them inked up because I am doing content with them all of the time. Such a problem! As for the pens that I miss, the vintage MBs with flex nibs are so nice and I rarely write with them. The Sailor 1911L, although I have a plan for it. Some TWSBIs sit for a while. It’s a challenge! The ones I often use are the MB 149, Egyptomania, Waterman 5, Esterbrook Camden, 823, Brass Sport, MB 146. These are always handy! Thanks so much!

If you ever struggle for content, I would be interested in those two typewriters in your background...assuming they are vintage mechanical typewriters! On the pens: I was cooking supper while this played. When I heard "East German" I had to stop and review that part of the video! There were some great pens that came from behind the Iron Curtain!
@HemingwayJones2 жыл бұрын
I agree completely on the East German pens. I love that stuff. Few people watch any of my videos and virtually no one watches the typewriter content so I don’t think I’ll ever post about them again l, sadly.
