I left a comment on the power pole table....while watching, i was thinking of all different things to do with the large roll of paper. Laying I out for glue run out didn't register till now😂😂. Incorporating it into the table is perfect👍

I’ve been kicking around the idea of buying a domino, which clearly has many advantages, but for panel glue-ups, tung and groove would be fine and, a hell of a lot cheaper. Of course, bits for my Rockler router table setup are far cheaper than the monster bits you use. The only downside is that you’d see the tung and groove from the edge of the panel, but I personally like seeing the joinery so it’s not really a downside. Of course, you can cover up the ends with breadboards, but I don’t care for the look of breadboards. You always make everything appear so easy and, yes, the machines you have help, but you are truly the master of joinery and one hell of a great woodworker, at least from the products I’ve seen come out of your shop. I wish I had a set up like your shop, but I’m 64 so by the time this beginner could gain the experience, find the money to buy the tools and establish a customer , or even a KZfaq subscriber base, I’ll be too old to actually make the products everyday. Actually, my wife would kill me before I even got to that point after she saw what I was spending on the machines alone. I enjoy watching your channel and living my dream through you. I wish you continued success my friend.

I’ve not had much luck with the centre referenced glue joint cutter. It never seems to be exactly the correct height and leaves a lip. Your loose tongue method is good as it preserves all the width of the timber when the timber is in short supply. Cheers

I learned a painful lesson with miter-lock and glue. Once cut the fit is perfect and the dry assembly was beautiful. Add glue and the small grooves capture the liquid and have no vent for air and excess to push out. Do you have this cutter? Can you do a video? Jer

Dusty, you’re living the dream, dude - at least mine! Thanks for sharing your shop time with us, and I love that you ‘show’ without ‘telling’ as your style. You seem to have been custom-built for YT! Question: how much power does your shop take? I’m assuming 3-phase power but what’s the service size? OH, and does Festool or King Canada comp you stuff or are those tens of thousands of dollars worth of tools directly from hard-won and hard-earned effort?!?

It won't be as much electrical draw as you'd expect... since it seems to be a one man shop.... so lights, air temp control, machine used plus dust collection wouldn't add up to a whole bunch... but get several people in there running equipment and it goes up exponentially

The glue always seems excessive. Is that necessary? Probably a dumb question... You're a professional and that's the amount you use so I'm sure it's good. I'm an aspiring wood worker.
@MadHatter764

It’s way excessive, you don’t need to empty an entire bottle for 3 boards.
@hashkat
@hashkat Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say it's excessive. The dude who replied below doesn't know what he's talking about. The important part is to guarantee that you don't get a dry join. If you do, the piece may not be usable. Glue is cheaper than wood! I will say I don't think it's a good idea to have the clamps touch the wood where the wet glue is. The steel and glue together on the wood will cause deep stains.
@ancaomhnoirrua
@ancaomhnoirrua Жыл бұрын
@hashkat That makes sense for sure. I've seen Mister Duffy use brown paper before to protect surfaces and pieces from glue drips. I'm afraid I'll sand weird when I'm trying to remove the extra glue. You all (professionals) make everything look so easy.
