Well just so you know: I found out that Danny Arnold has died in 1995. God Bless Him and Thank You Danny for giving us one of THE best sitcoms of the 70's and of all time.

Miss the 4DDDD Productions credit theme...memories from mry childhood in the 70's & 80's.

I honestly don't know why the Four D logo thing interests me. I guess it's a 70's thing. The old-school Columbia logo is cool,too.

The Four D logo is included on the Shout Factory's Barney Miller episodes. I got the complete series (which includes the first season of Fish, BTW) for $78 on Amazon.

Now wen anyone watches Barney Miller, we will still see 4d productions, with the present Columbia Pictures/Sony Pictures logo.

I always loved the Four D music. It's a nice change from most company fanfares.

I remembered as a kid watching those logos! I really like the CPT "sunburst" logo.

Barney Miller and Cheers WTTV Ch 7 Evansville Ind. 1980's at 10:30 pm sat and sunday nights after the news ********stars. I miss it.

Thanks for this, I use to see it back on WGN and syn. back in the 80's along w/the CPT sunburst, but I'd rather see the sunburst than that STUPID Sony Logo, and also, just so you know, the late Noam Pitlik was the guy that played Swammi on Sanford & Son, and Jack Elliot and Allyn Ferguson did music for Charlie's Angels and Elliot also did the theme song to Night Court on NBC. and the ABC Television Center was the same place that aired American Bandstand and Family Feud w/Richard Dawson.

I notice this must be a remastered DVD version of the CPT logo. The original sunburst is light orange and the lettering is bright yellow.

ABC Television Center was also where other sitcoms and other TV shows taped at such as: Welcome Back, Kotter, That's My Mama!, Password (1971-75 edition), General Hospital, Let's Make a Deal (1968-76 both ABC daytime and nighttime syndie versions), Mr. Belvedere, Benson, among other shows. Jack Elliot and Allyn Ferguson was also the composer of the original Lorimar jingle that was heard on the Lorimar "LP" and Lorimar "Line of Doom" logos as well.

@buzzlewie Yes, there were 3 TV series produced by Danny Arnold (BMiller, Fish, AES Hudson St), when he had his company, 4 D Productions. My dad wrote the music to all of them when with his ex-partner. Unfortunately, Arnold sold his company to Columbia Pics TV (then), now Sony, I believe, as settlement in a lawsuit over syndication rights, and there went the 4 D Prods logo & all syndication rights to the big guys, and over which we no longer had any control! Nuts.

The cast of Barney Miller also appeared on the Primetime Version of Family Feud with Richard Dawson also Videotaped at the ABC Television Center in Hollywood. and also, the ABC Television Center is where they also taped Animal Crack-Ups w/Alan Thicke, America's Funniest Home Videos with Bob Saget and also 2 Spin-offs of AFV: American's Funniest People and World's Funniest Videos both hosted by Saget's Good Friend Dave Coulier who had 3 Hostesses.

Yep! As well as another ABC game show in "Break the Bank" (1976 daytime verswion and the 1976-77 syndie version), and also which ironically BM cast member Abe Vigoda appeared on taped at ABC-TV in Hollywood as well.

The vintage Dom Bold you'd see on Laredo or Bugs Bunny Road Runner. Interesting that earlier episodes used the contemporary Dom Bold.

You didn't edit the full version of the Sunburst at the end, did you? EVERY episode of Barney Miller I've seen had a sped-up version of the logo, with only the second half of the jingle. If you didn't edit it, then this must be an ultra-rare episode with the full version of the logo.

Interestingly enough, three episodes of the current Barney Miller syndicated run retain the Starburst, followed by the SPT logo.

I think WGN America (Chicagoland - some Iowa, Illinois, Indiana) still show Barney Miller.

@ir10031981 - on Chicago's Me-TV and Me-Too reruns, they've had a CPT Sunburst on a majority of Season 3 episodes, sometimes followed by the SPT logo. some Season 4, a few Season 5, and some later seasons, too. Though, some later season episodes sometimes have the late 1980s CPT Torch Lady (in gold lettering) on the end credits, followed by the SPT logo.

(Chicago area residents) do any of you watch Barney Miller? if so, at the end does the old Sunburst logo appear or does the Sony Pictures TV logo show up? I had recently visited Chicago and didn't get the chance to catch the ending of Barney Miller. I only saw the start of the program but had errands to run.

Arlene Sorkin was the original co-host for AFP, and then when she fired, she was replaced by Music Video Vixen Julie "Tawny" Kitaen and when WFV aired on abc, it was co-hosted by Eva LaRue of All My Children and also, if I'm not mistaken, AFV with MTV VJ Daisy Fuentes, and VH1 VJ John Fugelsang and Tom Bergeron are also taped @ ABC Television Center in Hollywood and was Disney's One Saturday Morning taped @ ABC Television Center in Hollywood or not?

What about the one with the Sony Pictures Television closing logo with the jingle from 2002??
