*Hufflepuff stands out the most* to me because Intellect, Ambition and Bravery are all noble and great qualities. But without loyalty, kindness and friendship, it would harm the one who seeks it as well the ones who don't. In the end everyone needs someone to fall back on, place or a person that feels like home with delicious food 😄 Plus, Hufflepuffs are ambitious, brave and intelligent along with being kind, generous and loyal. They are unique as well because this house doesn't discriminate based on race and qualities.

(Especially Peter) Peter like Gryffindor. Red, had the sword, like the Sword of Gryffindor. Brave and loyal and strong. Lucy like Hufflepuff, loved her friends and had a gold jewelry piece like Helga Hufflepuff who founded Hufflepuff And Susan like Ravenclaw, wears purple and blue, and is always very cautious as opposed to her siblings.

I love backstories, so when I wrote This Peculiar Magic, I delved into what life was like for the main character before heading to the academy to study and live with others like himself. We get to understand the feeling of being the only person, it seemed, with his "affliction."

I have some theories about J.K. Rowling 1. The whole HP universe is so accurate and detailed because J.K. Rowling was a witch in her past life and went to Hogwarts. According to a Sorting Quiz, she's a Hufflepuff Or 2. She used a Polyjuice potion to turn into a student, hid in Hogwarts for 7 years and observed EVERYTHING. And she knew about the founders as she was a descendant of one of them, probably Helga Hufflepuff or Rowena Ravenclaw. Or 3. She's Hermione Granger and has been to Hogwarts, and wrote the books based on her personal experience. Now she covers up her identity. This one might be true as she said that Hermione was an exaggerated version of her; plus, Hermione's patronus is an otter which is Rowling's favourite animal.

When I was a kid, I always looked down on Hufflepuff. It was the "joke" house that no one wanted. As an adult, though, I feel like it's the best house. No manipulative Slytherin to backstab you, no haughty Ravenclaw to compete with, no headstrong Gryffindor to contend with, just genuine friends and good food. EDIT 05/02/2022: Folks, I absolutely do realize that not all House members will embody the traits that I listed above. However, these are some of the core personality traits of each House; therefore, the majority of the House student body will express these characteristics.

It always depends on the person not on the house. I got bullied by a whole gang of Hufflepuffs at a convention just because I'm a gryffindor and I shouldn't think too "highly" of myself which I never did. My personal traits just fit gryffindors the best. It may sound harsh but the Hufflepuff house scares me. A lot of friendly masks in front of their real face

I always found it weird that "Raven"claw house has an Eagle as its herald. :/ I mean, fine -Griffindor has a Lion (but Griffins are half Lion, so it's justifiable) Slytherin has "Slither" in the name, so snake makes sense. Hufflepuff? Not sure what Badgers have to do with that and not a puffskein logo, but ok. But Ravenclaw is named with a bird, and yet chooses a bird that has no reference to its name

@@kuzma2214 You could be right. Cedric Diggory is the most decent guy in Hogwarts (he befriends Harry when he is being rejected by most others) and he is a fierce friend, who would die for you. Hufflepuff is the best house, and I can say that because I'm a Ravenclaw. I can see why JKR would put herself in Hufflepuff.

Hermione is smart, but she isn’t creative like the other Ravenclaws, and she definitely isn’t creative.

Clarisse La rue However she's the most knowledgeable and is the most witty out of the trio. While she's clever and cunning, she does not have further ambition to discover like Harry does. She makes the most use of her spells in the books and movies, allowing her to use them creatively and wisely, for example, if it had been Ron or Harry to stop Neville in the common room in the first book, they would've used a harmful spell or blunt force trauma. However, Hermione wants to avoid that and uses the wise choice of paralyzing him instead.

I mean, I don’t wanna die, I don’t want you to die and I don’t want them to die because name another house better at plan making than a ravenclaw. We all know GRYFFINDORS are absolute idiots who always find ways to almost kill themselves in what they call their ‘plans.’ Slytherins probably stand second place on the podium but they always seem to leave out the most important detail which is how are you going to get away with it? Hufflepuffs seem least likely to come up with a successful plan, I don’t have any evidence so this one may be opinion based. Now, before you attack me for attacking your house, I am telling facts only for two thirds of this comment. Hufflepuff is an opinion because of their traits but also I ask that you respect my opinion.

Not "the rest" lol. She took the majority.. lot = majority, not " the rest"...Super misunderstood. Hufflepuff took the kids who had a mixture of values and attributes like majority of people. Their values couldn't be all contained into one box, they intersect. She respected that which is why she said regardless of who they are shed teach them the same. Many Hufflepuffs could have easily fit into the other houses but not really the other way around.

@@marybabenart1082 You certainly can. I've Read all the Harry Potter Books multiple times. To be honest they were the first Books I ever read for pleasure. Big Harry Potter fan, but the imagination necessary for Harry Potter is nothing compared to Game of Thrones. GoT created an entirely new world not just the Normal world 'muggles' with a twist of Wizardry added in. I love Harry Potter for the Writing...but the story isn't all that imaginative compared to many others. It's just told very very well which is why it's great. Game of Thrones is a long tedious read, not as enjoyable for most the Book but much more in depth and imaginative

The 7th book ending is incomplete IMNSHO. Hufflepuff did not care who was best at what, she just wanted students to work hard and treat each other with respect. The Sorting Hat told us that the school was divided against itself, and it was tragic that he must sort students into different houses towards those ends. Dumbledore said it was unfortunate that the students were sorted so soon, that some grew beyond the perspective of their respective houses. The logical ending is to unify the wizards at the level of the school as fully as possible, which would mean either (1) getting rid of the house system entirely, or (2) (more likely) sort all the students every year, so that adjusting and growing in a different house each year is the norm. At the end of the day, the Sorting Hat and Dumbledore seem to be saying that Helga had it right.

Divi Pandey It is pretty foolish to speak of one quarter being notably brave and one quarter being notably smart ,etc. And it is interesting that you just cast aside Cedric. It was a perfect opportunity for Rowlings to make a statement about what the best in wizardry really means and you just assume it is a throwaway choice without consideration. If evidence is not evidence because it fails to fit your theory, then the problem of is your theory. As for Hufflepuffs digging at Potter, Rowlings talks about the situation being rather extraordinary. Helga never expected students to stop being people, just to keep their day to day priorities on track.

I think Salazar Slytherin gets a bad reputation, you gotta keep in mind he was alive during the 990s, a time where Muggles persecuted Wizards. It is not unreasonable for him to believe that Muggle-Borns could risk the safety of the school. Of course, he was ultimately wrong to reject Muggle-Borns, and the other 3 founders were able to see past that. Salazar was considered to be evil, but a lot of people forget that he and Godric Gryffindor were best friends in spite of their differences, meaning he couldn't be all bad if Godric Gryffindor was able to acknowledge him.

Must’ve been really hard for him to see his kind was murdered and burned because of who they are. He must’ve thought that Hogwarts is a place where wizards and witches are protected from muggles. The only reason why he didn’t want muggle born is because he couldn’t trust muggles, anything related to the muggles.
