Sometimes old-school tech is better and this is my short list of why carburetors are better than fuel injection. Of course, all bikes are different and I'm generalizing a bit, and I'm still a huge fan of fuel injected performance bikes. #losangeles

Carb is quite reliable, you might have dead battery or ruined electric starter but you still can ride it by kickstarting. But it eats more fuel and the weather can affect the startup. Fuel injection is a much better for the fuel but if you not take care of that any computer related machine (ecu,tps,iacv) with the filters maintenance or battery replacement you will end up having to push your bike to nearest repair shop during a ride

I have a 2007 125cc with EFI. It won't just run right. Rides great for 1 to 15 mins then stutters and stops working for hours/days. Changed fuel pump, fuel pump assembly, injector, CDI, high voltage coil, throttle assembly... Still the same. I modified it to run with a carb, rides like a charm now. Carb is love, carb is life ❤

EFI hardly ever fails, and there’s no process to leave. Some lady’s husband is sure to catch me on a cold winter morning on a CB vs my EFI TU250x. I get all the old looks with the new tech. Jokes aside, I believe carbs have a place in my life, and that’s as a 2nd/weekend bike. Reliability is a must as my bike is my only vehicle.

EFI will always be much more reliable and a better solution, but when it’s working well, there’s nothing like the organic feel of a carburetor. Just give me an electronic ignition over points 😂

EFI is so much more reliable my bike is a 2019 and it is currently 2024 and I have not yet had a single problem with it and it's been over 5 years. So if someone tells me that a carburetor is better usually I laugh. Some people get stuck in the past and never know how to get out. 5 years and not a single problem with my electronic fuel injection yet.

@@MMac-kp8zr got a video up of my bike. Previously the only way one could have this look would be to buy a classic (carbureted) but she’s a 2019 as well. I’m not leaning over to fiddle with a mf thing.😂 There’s even the G400C/Mash 400 out there with full 100% retro with EFi and actually has a kickstarter and dual exhaust. Couldn’t imagine tweaking with a carb, I bought my bike to ride!

I don't have alot of experience with carb bikes, but I know quite a few have a prime position, bypassing the need for vacuum. My '79 gs850 being one of them.

Cabs are not superior to fuel injected. A bike with a carb that sits for 2 weeks will struggle to start. Fuel injected is superior today.

That it wouldn't start was the only clue I had the battery was dead. Maybe mine is special (2007).
@PotatoeJoe69
@PotatoeJoe69 10 ай бұрын
@@mongrelmotorsportsIt should have started. The stator is what generates power, and it does so via a series of electrical coils and magnets rotating via the crankshaft. The battery only stores the produced electricity. However, some batteries (when dead) can be damaged to the point that any voltage generated by the stator gets wasted and can't properly pass thru the battery and to the ignition. In most cases, a battery that's dead just from sitting shouldn't matter. A battery that's dead because it's old and worn out is a different story.

This guy doesn't know what he's talking about. Here's four reasons why we need to stay in the past.... Literally carburetors are outdated technology.... why use outdated Tech if you don't need to... Good luck starting your bike in the same temps I start mine in. You will not get your bike started at all....
@Cyclingwithgasoline
@Cyclingwithgasoline Ай бұрын
It doesn’t have to be a better technology or even easier to deal with to be “better” in some ways. A well tuned carburetor can provide a more organic overall feel and immediate response. It’s an old school thing that you either appreciate or you don’t. I get your opinion, but carbs can be a very cool thing for the right people.

Can't be that sensitive since I have a 2019 Honda CRF250L rally with fuel injection and I've had it since 2019 and it's now 2024 and I haven't touched it once. Literally have not repaired or had to even look at my fuel injection... They last so much longer than a carburetor does... Literally 5 years and haven't even looked at my fuel injection that's how good it is.
