It's good to have a few warm up exercises to get ready to play, but they can also help to build your finger independence. Here are four of my favourites.

These are wonderful! Sometimes I'm not sure what to practice, and I don't always want to practice a song. Sometimes I'm tired, or my time is limited, but i want to practice while I have a few minutes before dinner, after dinner, while the boys are getting ready for bed, etc... This is so great! Thank you for sharing these exercises. 😊🎵

I really appreciate these warmup exercises and how you always teach us how to be more "ergonomic" with our movements. Thank you!

Great content made at a professional level. My father played in the RAAF and RAF bands before becoming a professional music teacher. I have played in A grade brass bands and grade 2 pipe bands. So i know what you have been presenting is if a high standard. Waiting for my first uke to arrive any day now at my front door. Could not be happier to learn from your videos sir. Hello from South Australia.

Honestly, I'm guilty of thinking I'm suppose to keep my hand on a fixed position, the less movement and the more my fingers stretch like hell to reach the next fret the better, but now I get it, it's both! Thanks!

I started these but I called them the Blue exercises. I was very relaxed and had good hand position, but my face was blue. And then I started to breathe and found it was much easier. Basics.

You are always putting out interesting quality content, Phil, and this particular one surely comes at a good point of time for me! DANKE fröm Germany 🇩🇪 ✌🏻I for one would be quite curious to watch your right 👋🏻 as well. If not simultaneously but maybe at the end of every exercise …

Do you have a video about playing a C major chord up the fret to warm up?
@PhilDoleman
@PhilDoleman Жыл бұрын
This might do the job. I've got one of these videos for every other major, min, 7th and min 7th chord. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aZ50ktt9y9XWY6c.html

@@PhilDoleman I thought that my husband was saying to play the c pentatonic scale up the fret. He was saying to play the c pentatonic and go up the fret (or down the fret) to get the other key pentatonic scales.
@PhilDoleman
@PhilDoleman Жыл бұрын
@@ruthfarthing524 That would work too. You can kill two birds with one stone by naming the notes out loud as you play the different scales!
