Your infertility and adoption story will start out in a secure group, just between family and close friends. As your child grows, the number of people who know that story will grow as well. You may mention it to new friends, doctors, teachers, and maybe a few nosy acquaintances who ask, "Are they yours?" As more people learn about the amazing way your child came to you, it can also be hard to know how to support your child without sharing more information than they are ready for.
