Barbary lions are extinct both in the willd and in captivity.The "Barbary like" ones are engineered hybrids.Check the IUCN

Sorry, but whoever wrote the script for the narrator is scientifically illiterate. All living lions belong to the same species: Panthera leo. Regional variants are sub-species.

The most powerful lion in the world is not one of these pampered zoo pets that you're showing with some exception. His name is Red Road. And he is the pride lion of the Nahru pride. He lives in the Timbavarte adjacent to Kruger national Park, South Africa. He is maintaining a large pride of up 24 lions. He faced many challenges over the years and he's met them all.
