Everton have been hit with a potentially catastrophic 10-point deduction from this season's Premier League. But after several consecutive transfer windows of near zero spending, how did owner Farhad Moshiri manage to fall foul of the league's Profitability and Sustainability Rules??

Everton broke the rules and deserve the punishment per the rules that the PL have created. The thing that's stuck with me however, is how are clubs now supposed to challenge the resources of the enshrined big 6? Their commercial revenues are such that the rest of the league simply cannot compete even if they do flex some external investment. Unless, for example, Aston Villa are able to capitalise on their last three years of big spending it's unlikely they'll ever have the sustained capital that falls within the rules to maintain their challenge. That would be a massive pity as Villa like Everton are a storied, historically big club that are a stalwart of the English game. PSR will bind them and prevent them from progressing any further. Brighton's constant flipping of players can't last forever either - particularly as other clubs start to catch up to them in terms of their savvy use of analytics and scouting - They will just never rake in that commercial revenue. Both Brighton and Aston Villa deserve to be clubs that are in with a shout of the title, but I guarantee that neither of them will ever get anywhere near - and that's sad. Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal may be following the rules - but they have such a headstart in the first place that it's hardly a level playing field, and it feels unjust that a team daring to challenge them should be swatted away for their hubris. Everton's absolutely farcical mismanagement should be punishment enough.

Further to your point, one only has to walk down Anfield Road to see the amount of tourist visitors, not going into the ground to see the game but buying merch, etc. I'm sure that this is the same at 'The Emirates' and Old Trafford.

It wouldn’t be 300M case, only one club can remain in PL even Everton relegated last season.

I wish you explained how the transfers and other issues. I appreciate the past recap but you could have kept it brief and dissect where things went wrong

Yeah, too much flowery words, not straight forward words. Also, the script need structure, much cut, and narator need emotion in reading script, not like robot or AI.

Yeah, it's all a bit jumbled, jarring and hard to watch. The speed & delivery of the narrator makes it difficult to take in - I had to check I hadn't left my Playback Speed settings on 1.5. Big words that he doesn't know how to pronounce feels odd to say the least. It could have been a lot shorter and concise so I ended up not listening to more than half of it and typing this instead at 3am. I need to have a word with myself. 😂

@@Swisswavey I think the script writer used to write in sport tabloid or something like that. It's okay to use big word on those kind media and make it long, but not in video content. It only makes people lost concentration, bored, then lost interest on it.

Can't wait to see what happens when (if) Man City get found guilty of some of the 114 charges they face. Instant relegation? I bet not, prob a slap on the wrist given the Saudi to Tory lobbying.
