FOX 10 confronts CEO of rehab clinic under investigation

FOX 10 Investigates exposed what health officials are calling an unlicensed treatment center at a Tempe hotel property.
We’re learning more about NewFound Hope, the company behind the operation that is under state investigation.
Both the state’s Medicaid agency and the Department of Health Services (DHS) are investigating NewFound Hope. Records show dozens of people have been housed at a "decommissioned" Ramada Inn without valid licensing.
The company is also accused of Medicaid fraud in the midst of a statewide sober living crisis.
We finally caught up with NewFound Hope’s owner to see what he had to say while at the Arizona Office of Administrative Hearings on Aug. 4.
"I gotta tell you no comments until you guys put facts on TV that are real, no fake news," said Denis Artiles, NewFound Hope CEO.
He responds saying "absolutely" before FOX 10 Investigator Justin Lum can finish asking if he denies the allegations in our previous report on NewFound Hope.
Lum continues, "… of offering services without proper clinical oversight or excessive billing?"
"I have no further comment," Artiles said.
He never responded to FOX 10 for our previous report.
A little more than a week later, he was found after a private hearing with Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), the state’s Medicaid agency.

Checking from West Michigan here. Im a #NavyVeteranKorea, American Legion member who tries to help my fellow Veterans who suffer addiction/alcoholism. This is a problem in Michigan too.🤬🤬

Many addicts talk about this rehab! The stories they tell is horrendous! This place needs a full investigation and shut this place down! How awful!

Families need to sue the hell out of the state for not investigating this rehab! How awful, people are suffering and this place just wanted there money! Shame on Arizona! They haven’t done a damn thing for addicts or homeless! But they let those drug pushers in!

It’s my understanding the bureau of Indian affairs pays more than everyone else, and likely continued to pay even when the state revoked this man’s license.

Not all of these programs are frauds.. Some actually function like legit rehab facilities.

Believing that this is an exception rather than the norm is exactly why so many abusive and disingenuous treatment providers are able to not only thrive, but expand their grifts. Staff and doctors who lie to get more insurance money simply change employers and continue doing exactly the same crimes unless steps are taken to prevent these people from ever working with vulnerable patients again. My personal experience has proven the opposite sadly.

I am tired this we are the house managers we provide the house foods all required for the house and clinics get paid huge money and refuse to paid the house managers who did hard part to take care those clients please state change it house managers has licenses but they cannot have access to bill them self they have to go through with those clinics who aren’t do nothing and get paid get free money while the houses managers is who are spending a lot money to take care for clients in ends when clinics received money turn to the houses managers I will not pay you you can not sue me because AHCCCS don’t know you and clients ending go back to street to drink to smoke please give houses managers power to continue their jobs and care the clients they need money to do that those clinics what they give them is just classes only nothing else please please 😂change things
