Fox 2.0 Reservoir Shock Rebuild Instructions - Servicing Step by Step

We lay out the step by step and show the tools on what's needed to rebuild your Fox 2.0 reservoir shocks.
00:03 - Release nitrogen and remove valve core
00:08 - Loosen set screw
00:12 - Unscrew wiper cap
00:17 - Remove seal head circlip
00:25 - Remove shaft from shock body
00:33 - Remove reservoir cap circlip
00:41 - Remove reservoir cap
00:49 - Dump out old shock oil
01:00 - Remove IFP
01:11 - Clean shock body & reservoir
01:20 - Change IFP seal
01:32 - Fill with shock oil
01:38 - Reinstall IFP into reservoir
01:50 - Disassemble shim stacks, piston and seal heads
02:00 - Replace old seals on seal head and wiper cap
02:11 - Clean and reinstalled wiper cap, seal head, shim stacks & piston
02:30 - Bleed air from shock
02:40 - Reinstall retaining circlips & seal shock
03:00 - Install valve core & charge with nitrogen

Would love to see you guys compare the Dobinsons MRR 3 way adjustable against the Fox DSC shocks.

@@ShockSurplus I have a 2012 Charger with the 2 mode dampening bilstein shocks. can they be rebuilt like in the video? Is this a service you provide, or can recommend ?

My wiper cap doesn’t seem to unscrew. The set screw striped and was drilled out. Then I was able to spin the cap but that’s all it does, doesn’t seem to unthread. Any tips?

Could you list where you purchased some of the tools such as the reservoir cap removal tool and the nitrogen servicing gauge and valve assembly. I have most of the other tools. Thanks

I’m trying to get suspension for my Baja bug build. I’m being told KING is 12 - 14 months out and FOX is 8 - 10… 😮

King told us recently for a quote we had asked about that PR series about 2-3 months out while RS Series are 7-8 months out. Contact us directly with either the part numbers you need or the full specs you need and we'll see what the ETA is for us.

Would this be a similar process for the stock fox shock with live valve on the raptor?

Similar for sure, however the stock Raptor shocks are an internal bypass so there is an internal sleeve you need to worry about. The following video would be a better representation kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Zs9oitx1y9XYhYk.html

Where is the part number on these shocks? I cannot find any on the external parts of the shock.

Fox stamps it on the valve cap on the side where the shaft comes out.

Please provide the part number I’ve checked all over my shocks but still can not find any part numbers or any thing to identify them besides (Fox racing shox) you said it was supposed to be on the cap in another comment but still no luck

Part number depends on the part, so without knowing more about what you have, it would be impossible to simply tell you a part number. Are your shocks vehicle specific or a universal/race series part? And what application are they on?

I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 with a 9in lift they say fox racing shox and look identical to the shocks in the video

Then they are more than likely a universal 2.0 shock and are not vehicle specific. The best thing you can do is get the stroke or travel length and match it to a shock currently in production for replacement if need be. Otherwise finding the exact part number itself if it has worn off the body would be pretty hard since those have been out of production for a decade or more.
