Edward Owens Nope. We're in this mess because of political gerrymandering. Politicians redrawing districts so that they win elections based on their most extreme voters. As an independent you should be more upset at this practice than anyone because it essentially dilutes the independent vote for congress which taken as a whole may be more important than the presidency. When a party obtains +2 million more total votes for Congress than another party yet lose double digit seats then that's an issue. You can laugh I guess when one party or another loses and is butthurt but unless you're apathetic it would seem independent middle of the road voters are continously butt hurt since their votes keep getting diluted through gerrymandering.

MrImagayguy I assume it will be more of the same, however. In a country where maybe 100,000 people control over 90% of the wealth, it truly is that group of people who actually run the country. Bill Clinton is a great speech maker on the level of John F. Kennedy, and campaigned strongly for the common man, while eventually introducing NAFTA, an organization that virtually destroyed manufacturing in this country by outsourcing cheap labor to Mexico and China. Years ago Hillary talked of healthcare for everyone. But what is now Obama care, is really nothing compared to the European countries, as the power elite simply wrote up a multithousand page doctrine to further carve up many more billions of dollars for themselves, while thousands of people end up bankrupting themselves just to stay alive a few more years while fighting terrible diseases. Hillary will be our next president. But I doubt we'll see the kind of change that this country really needs. No democracy has ever survived the test of time, and unfortunately this one won't either. Within 100 years, the United States Empire will dissolve into a second world nation, and go by way of the Roman Empire. I believe it is human nature that causes the collapse of societies, and always will.
