I miss having to brush snow out of a huge sat dish. Those were the good old days. I also ran the satellite desk at CNN in Atlanta and luckily it never snowed there. lol. I love Beta SP and those decks will never go out of style! Haha. But seriously, I HATE not having an actual, physical master control switcher and rolling tapes manually. These kids today have it way too easy. They should all have to learn 2-inch tape threading! Haha!!

The old machines and tapes were not failproof. I like the microcomputer that is able to work in computer-assisted machine (CAM) mode. It is easier to control the transmitter in the studio than the antenna, especially one that is on top of the roof of a very high skyscraper building. Now is the time to get with the program.

Just had a job interview to be an MC, I'm enjoy and understand technology. The guy who interviewed me gave me a run down of the MC room. He explained part of the job and went so fast. Almost makes me not want the job. A lot time management, dubbing, editing, etc. Plus the hourly pay is very low.

weird request, but do you still have anything worthy of teaching from what they told you? My dads a director and I want to be able to work on live shows, (I work in post rn) and I think showing him that I have even a basic understanding of the job would rub him the right way.

BetaCAM, not BetaMAX you muppet! I'm shocked at how much racked up equipment you have in the control room, that really should be racked up in the Central Equipment clean room!
