Police K9 dog laid to rest after being shot, killed in line of duty

5 ай бұрынA deputy K-9 with the Marion County Sheriff's Office was laid to rest on Monday. K-9 Leo was shot in the line of duty on Feb. 17. He died days later at the hospital. On Monday, his handler, MCSO Corporal Justin Tortora, remembered his K-9 companion.

When this story came on air in the news room I was so devastated. I immediately cried. At that time his status was unknown and seeing he did pass away brings me to tears once again. RIP Leo ❤

Dogs to me are more than animals, they may as well be humans, they are extremely loyal. Leo knew the risks, but he loved his handler and the other officers.
