Wow, I am so sorry for your situation. I have experienced homelessness a multitude of times before I became a nurse. My daughter (7 at the time) and I were escaping a DV situation and ended up living in my barely working car because there was NO SPACE at any shelter within a reasonable distance. So it is especially frustrating reading this kind of thing knowing they not only take it for granted but are outright disrespectful, entitled and blatantly ignorant. I pray things get better for you as soon as possible. Although I am also glad you aren’t out on the streets. there are a handful of 2nd generation immigrants like in NYC speaks English because of the large and vibrant ethnic enclaves that are there. There is no official language in the US contrary to popular belief, but then Spanish is the 2nd largest language in the US. I lived in South Texas right by the border for 9 months and feel that place is a piece of crap! Almost 100% of the people there are Latinos, manly Mexicans and I had some hard time with communnicating with others who spoke little to no English. Many dont make an effort even to speak the language, i guess now we know why they are so left behind and why they are in the bottom of the ladder.
