Mid-year budget cuts could be hitting Maryland’s state budget to the tune of nearly $150 million if Gov. Wes Moore’s latest budget request is approved.
Gov. Moore outlined his proposal in an op-ed published in The Baltimore Sun Wednesday morning, calling for “targeted” spending cuts. According to a proposal sent to the Board of Public Works, Gov. Moore calls for $148 million cuts to a wide range of state agencies, from the Departments of Natural Resources, Agriculture, Health, and beyond, to the current $63 billion budget.
