Just a dude in his garage trying his best to explain Foxbody rear suspension basics. I’m not a pro. I’m just sharing information I have learned on my car. My wife thinks she’s funny. Ignor me her 🤣

I'd say you've got a lot of knowledge that a lot of guys would like to have. You've really got that car working. I don't think I've ever seen a video explaining rear suspension for the fox chassis like this. Most guys wanna keep this stuff secret. Looking forward to some shock stuff for these cars as well, like coilovers vs factory style perched spring stuff, pros/cons of each, etc. Great work man!

That was a great explanation of how it works

Thanks man. I’m a simple man just trying to explain things in a way mist can understand. This is the basics. This needs to be understood before you can move on to other things.

That was a great explanation! Also my wife and I watched this and we were rolling with laughter with the interaction with your wife. Good stuff. I would like an explanation on how to gauge tire pressure and if it needs to go up or down.

I think tire psi and shock adjustments will be my next video. I have had several people ask. I will always begin with “I’m not a pro” I can only share what I have learned. It has already helped many tho.

And yes I guess I will have to keep the wife as my camera woman 🤣 She thinks she’s funny and likes to mess with me when I’m trying to be serious. 🤣

Nice!! It Will be good to explain how the front suspension set up interacts or works with the settings on the rear suspension.Good for a follow up video!

Thank you for the comment. I can cover that on another video. On a radial you’d be surprised how little the front does when the rear is setup correctly.

Great information and simply explained, along with humor. Congrats on your latest win a couple weeks ago, well deserved! My 93 is sitting under a cover in the garage with no engine, got a fresh A-5, QT bell and already built the diff with 4.10s, but will be much more of a street car. Hope you and the wife continue with the vids and good luck on your next race, hopefully in Bradenton this weekend!

Awesome video and great explanation on the bar angle also. I’d love you to do more suspension videos! Maybe some videos on how to tune the suspension once you’re at the track to get down a better or worse track!

Seems things went really well after radials. Sticky clutch and soft side slicks been consistent but a slipper and radials made that thing evolve into the baddest stick car around.

Ok that’s great. I tried to keep it simple but I talk a lot🤣 Theres more to it but this is the foundation of the fox rear suspension. This must be understood to move on to other things.

Awesome video man, definitely subscribed can’t wait for future content of this sort, suspension tuning for radials is super interesting to me, having never done it but learning on a similar car.

I need to learn more with my foxbody setup. Having odd tire hop I believe.
@297thatguy3 жыл бұрын
Take a video at an angle where you can see tire to fender gap. Look to see if the wheel is moving up and down. It’s either shocks or tire psi too low. I will probably make a video on this soon.

Awesome video you made it so my 8 year old could understand it thank you! I see the mounts it all makes sense only question i have is people used to worry about pinion angle back in the day does that still apply?
@297thatguy3 жыл бұрын
Pinion angle does NOT effect traction on a Foxbody. Just set it correctly so it doesn’t break or bind.

What do you suggest if i have all stock torque boxes? Just a set of lower anti squat brackets? Southside style bars?

What would a car like Real Teal cost if it went up for sale today? Not the cost to build it but the cost to buy it..
@297thatguy3 жыл бұрын
A real teal 93 Cobra that runs 8.0’s with parts like Holley EFI, g force transmission, black magic clutch, full UPR suspension, race brakes, built rearend etc.🤔 I’d say $35k would be a deal but would probably go for more. The fact that mine is currently the fastest nitrous H pattern car period. Even more.
@jamesnj34543 жыл бұрын
I would agree with that statement (if it were for sale 😉)

A little more info on the brackets for the upper control arms. And what brackets did you use to lower the lower control arms...thanks
@297thatguy3 жыл бұрын
Upper is made by Scotty Seals. I’m going to get with his and ask if it’s ok for me to post his phone number. He has a one man shop but makes top notch stuff. His prices are incredible. My lowers are just some hand made stuff I threw together. They work but they are ugly. Scotty also makes rearend brackets. I will get contact info for him tomorrow.

Who makes the bar for the upper control arm mounts ?
@297thatguy3 жыл бұрын
