That doesn't hold up at all. Checks and balances are there including grand juries, judges, appellate courts and juries. If there was nothing there then there would be no charges (kinda like the tens of thousands of hours spent investigating Biden's finances that found squat).

Trump falsified 34 business documents to conceal his violations of NY state election law, NY state tax law, and/or federal election law with respect to the 2016 presidential election. 34 felony convictions based on over 20 witnesses and hundreds of documents, and a unanimous verdict of 12 ordinary citizens doing their duty to state and nation after 6 weeks of trial.

With the SCOTUS decision, the president's immunity allows him to imprison all those who oppose his power. So, you could now be wanted by the presidency for having criticized and devalued him. Criticism of the president is a matter of state to the extent that it embarrasses the president in carrying out his mission. In other words the SCOTUS ended the 1st Amendment.

It's already laid out in the Constitution of what a president can and can't do and what the proper actions to take if a president commits a high crime or misdemeanor while in his official role. I saw and heard President Biden's speech about the SCOTUS immunity opinion and I said "President Biden does not understand that this opinion includes him and any past or future presidents" By using President Biden's reasoning then he is perfectly fine with getting indicted for not enforceing our immigration laws or whatever type of lawfare a prosecutor may come up with. With the SCOTUS decision, the president's immunity allows him to imprison all those who oppose his power. So, you could now be wanted by the presidency for having criticized and devalued him. Criticism of the president is a matter of state to the extent that it embarrasses the president in carrying out his mission. In other words the SCOTUS ended the 1st Amendment.

Nice VH 🎸reference! But the 3rd branch is the Judicial, which is all the courts. They follow a defined process of appeal. SCOTUS would risk appearing biased if it made a habit of plucking cases out of their existing venue.

The only remedy during the trial would have been for the SCOTUS Justice over that district to remove the judge. It's hardly ever done, and that district's Justice is Sotomayor so...not happening!
