I agree with most everything Mr. Barr said, with the exception of him rhetorically treating Mr. Trump's "Documents case" as equivalent with Mr. Biden's behavior in the same realm. The Vice President has no declassification authority at all, so they are extremely different situations (not to mention the large number of "classified" documents he apparently took home and "saved" while he was a Senator.)

There are valid concerns with these rulings. I hold a more dim view than Barr, and he does assume that all the mechanisms around a future president will hold a president back from committing crimes with immunity. This is not TDS, this is genuine concern. I am concerned. In fact, I'm genuinely scared by Trump and his rhetoric.

The ruling should have been 9-0. It recognizes that any US citizen occupying the office of POTUS may be placed in situations where the right course of action is not clear cut and hence difficult judgements and decisions have to be made. In this situation the POTUS cannot be hamstrung by concerns about being second guessed by the courts after the event. It is the office which has immunity more than the individual. The Democrats howling about this has been utterly ludicrous. They should show more concern that they selected a man as a candidate now confirmed unfit lacking the integrity and cognition required.
