Note the times that Cornel talks, and Tucker attempts to talk over him to move on to another talking point. Cornel doesn't stop talking. In interviews where tuck 'owns a lib', they let him interrupt and control the flow of the conversation. Thats when tucker is able to push his talking points and jump from topic to topic while swinging with punchlines. Cornel very clearly came well prepared for this interview.

I wouldn't be so sure about that, Bernie is about as commie as the DSA. In an interview with the Burlington Free Press in 1976, he said, "I favor the public ownership of utilities, banks and major industries," He hasn't changed, We all know he wants to nationalize healthcare and take away your consumer sovereignty, no private healthcare and insurance in Bernieland, He even advocated "public ownership of the drug companies and placing doctors on salaries.", the natural goal of M4A. You see he's pro-slavery too, Masta Bernie wants to force doctors and I supposed all healthcare personnel to be salaried slaves to the state, no choice I guess, I can only assume he would advocate sending criminalised doctors who would dare to operate in the free market and service patients to gulags or something.

"there is no state in communism" Ya I know, the state will melt away and the workers paradise will be rainbows and unicorns. HAHAHAHHAHA! Whatever clown. As of 4/3/19 4:13pm, why am I the only person that has recognized and appreciated your observation? While I know there are those who prefer to be separated based on labels they choose to identify with, I also know that this is how we achieve unity for humankind. The willingness to listen, not hear (there is a difference) to those we may deem as the other, is how we make progress count me in for team humankind. Cmon everyone, Primovid"s observation should be at the top of replies and remain there for this video. @robertnicholls9917

@@HippieSkippy100 .... which is why all democracies have adopted hybrid systems, socialism and capitalism. The key is creating the best balance of that system until we evolve. Even that system is not perfect. We have hybrids because capitalism leads to slavery due to greed. Socialism fits our best instincts of community but a sociopath can exploit that system as well. The hybrid results in a check and balance. Democratic Socialism is the best of that balance until humanity can leave our petty animal nature behind.

@Michael Hampton I respectfully disagree Michael. We seem to have to pick sides or assign labels these days to people with different viewpoints. It is the loud, unlistening voices on any side of the debate that are not welcoming of open discussion. The irony is that these people, being close-minded and given to some form of zealotry, often have more in common with their targeted opponents "on the other side" than they do with those whom they perceive to be with them. A bigoted liberal with a closed mind will be likely to take up a vociferous debate with a more open-minded liberal where their perspectives differ; same thing goes for a conservative. Viewpoints form a spectrum, and there are as many different opinions within a team as there are between teams. Just because you may play for the Cowboys while I play for the Giants, or you work for Microsoft while I work for Google, or you vote Republican and I vote Democratic does not mean that you agree with all Cowboy players, Microsoft colleagues, or Republican voters. Conflict exists everywhere, which is why - and I absolutely agree with your core point here - that open discussion is what is needed. In this light, I am grateful for your comment.

I’ve spent time on these democratic and conservative channels and i must say, at what point do people realize that they should focus on what they agree on? Both parties have ideologies that are spewed as being absolute when really they should be malleable, critique shouldn’t confused with opposition, but rather it should be welcomed. Humility seems to go a long way in most of these conversations and i refuse to believe that even as a collective any party can present an ideal proposition that makes peoples lives easier, merits on both sides should be considered above all else. Most of these modern day intellects can only provide so much insight into the human experience and how to better it without treading the other side of the fence. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side, but I’m sure some of it is.

The term "Socialism" is not always well understood. Essentially, ["Socialism is a political, social and economic philosophy encompassing a range of economic and social systems characterised by social ownership of the means of production and workers' self-management of enterprises." -Wikipedia]. My greatest concern is "social ownership". Essentially, social ownership eventually deteriorates the concept of private property and freedom. It may sound attractive from an academic point-of-view (as a theory) but its full application is devastating. Aside from threatening private property and freedom, it drains motivation and ingenuity from its followers. History shows this. Remember the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) tried this system in different flavors. Marxism (the source of Socialism/Communism), Lennism, Stalinism etc. were cries against capitalism and social class. I can understand where Marx and Engels were coming from (I don't agree with them) but their utopian philosophy was (is) flawed. In order for Socialism to work (despite what some would say) a certain amount of coercion (state authority gone mad) must be used. Check history. Name a country (comparable to the U.S.) that has gotten Socialism to work for longer than our country's form of government. The USSR tried it for almost 80 years...it didn't work. (Where is the USSR now???) Why don't we have Russian made cars sold in the U.S.? We trade with Japan, Germany, South Korea, etc. Why not Russia if socialism/communism is such a great social model??? I agree (kinda) with John's comment "The word socialism and related terms have basically lost all meaning in practical political discourse." However, if he is promoting Socialism (in any form) then I have a serious disagreement with him. Under "Socialism" in Wikipedia there are MANY forms of "socialism". In principle, that form of government, in my opinion, is unhealthy to the human spirit.

We differ on how America should go forward to attain an egalitarian system without the power systems that currently exist. BaldOldMan right on the money - the principle is great but America is using it as a facade to encourage people to put in the effort expecting some great reward, also referred to as the American dream. The fact of the matter is that success is not dependent on the merits of your work but rather on your propositioned standing in society. The concept of a social democracy (or democratic socialism as referred to by sanders) is trying to get people to the same starting point so that everybody has the chance to be successful based on what they put on. I respect the conversation but clearly a vast majority of Americans are not educated enough to understand these concepts. This is not to slam these people but to point out that education has failed them overall. This is a feature not a bug in the system - on some level we can have a discussion if critical thinking serves a country well or not - granted America has one of the least critical and uneducated populations in the western world. Nevertheless the absence of information and knowledge does not mean that people aren’t happy. What you have nowadays are a lot of people that live in this country with this access to knowledge that are extremely unsatisfied. West makes a great point that undermines a good 75% of what I've seen on these Tucker clips: because one Democratic socialist thinks something, it doesn't mean they all do. one of Carlson's main techniques is to point out the idiocy of certain Democrats, and then paint all Democrats as idiots. West blows that away, but it certainly won't change Carlson's future segments, of course.

@@vitico1630 Sounds like a great fairytale, but in reality and practice, the dignity, quality of life, power to the people you speak of is like cream in a socialist system. It rises to the top where people in political positions and/or with political ties keep that power for themselves. Nigeria is a perfect example. History shows plenty examples. Give me a place where it’s worked. Netherlands have moved toward free market systems plus they don’t have the diversity of cultures that the U.S. does. Many nations in Africa have tried Socialism and its people are struggling horribly. The truth is you can’t get rid of greed and before we should worry about everyone else, how about show love toward our neighbors, who we actually know. If people cared more their neighbors and with less taxes, I THINK, we are much more better off than giving control to others over our lives. You may have faith in people, but I don’t.

@@vitico1630 Plus sanctions where placed on Venezuela over human rights violations, and at the time THE PEOPLE OF VENEZUELA were protesting against the government at the time. I researched that up with a few sources. I seen no evidence of unjustified sanctions. In conclusion from my research, U.S. sanctions are designed to ensure that Maduro and his cronies don’t profit from illegal gold mining, state-operated oil operations, or other business transactions that would enable the regime’s criminal activity and human rights abuses. Sanctions did not cause Venezuela to fail. It’s government and people relinquishing the power to others over them failed them. U.S. is following the same footsteps for many fallen nations!

If you earn 180k you get taxed almost HALF!!! Why would anyone be incentivised to work hard??? Even with our taxes, I still pay thousands in tolls and private health every year. The public health waiting list for non life threatening surgery is ridiculous... Life's not all bad, I do enjoy Australia but geez Louise i wish our taxes would drop a little. Our Gov are baffoons with the budget anyway, they sold our electricity and water to china (nsw). I do believe in capitalism... That's why i get up for work early, that's why I grind.
