SN95 IS NOT A FOXBODY! AGREED!

Great video! I think the problem is the term "Foxbody" has been so commercialized to the 79-93 mustang when you hear it you think 79-93 automatically. The term "Foxbody" is so heavily used now it stripped the OG name 5.0 away from it. These days the term is stricly referring to 79-93 mustangs only by looks and not the chassis design where it originated from. You don't hear somebody say look at that beautiful foxbody only to turn around and see a 04' Cobra. With that being said, yes the Sn95 chasis was based off the Fox chasis and although similar they are not the same. people will continue to argue about how Sn95 cars are the same as fox cars and opinions will always vary, but the reality is they are not the same by looks or design.

Face the truth, 1979-2004 Mustang is the Fox chassis. You can literally interchange the whole drivetrain. I have ‘03 Cobra IRS, steering, brakes and wheels on my ‘93. I just bolted in an ‘01 Cobra IRS in a ‘90 a few months ago as well. Heck, the from ‘04 seats even bolt in.

The real question is if you can play slug bug with 98-11 New Beetles or if it has to be old air cooled beetles.

SN95 …. That’s it! Fox Body Mustang 1979-1993 like you said is a Fox Body. Sometimes events and event promotion gets out of hand.

Foxtoberfest will over time dwindle and eventually cease to exist, unless the years are expanded 🤷‍♂️ I personally have Zero issues with 94-04 being included, judged separately of course. I like the Good Guys Events where a +30yr rule keeps the New Stuff out......

SN cars are not foxbodys, I agree with you on the part about them changing the name . That’s why I quit going to Fun Ford Weekend, they started letting just anybody show up, the last 1 went at Rockingham(Billy Glidden ) was there with the foxbody. They were letting Camaros and everything else come in, pissed me off.

They are not a foxBODY. They are built on a modified fox platform but carry the monikers SN95 or New Edge. FoxBODY is the name for 79-93 Mustang and fox platform is any other from 78-04.

Whether they are all on a Fox platform or not when someone says foxbody they already know or are thinking 79 93 mustang. Just like if you say dentside ford, or OBS ford. Foxbody is foxbody, sn95 is sn95 etc etc. It's how they are referred to in my opinion.

I went to one of the very early Foxtoberfest events (3rd or 4th maybe?) , back when it was at a parking lot for some venue(city park?..maybe it was a ball field?) in Concord or Kannapolis NC just off I-85....I think there were about 100 cars, most were just average fox junk but there were a handful of legit showcars there. They should keep it all Fox and if they want to have 1994-2004 cars too they need to be separate and call it something different.

I was hyped up to go to foxtober fest for a couple years and finally went 2 years ago. A friend of mine trailered my fox there for me and the hype was real for about 2 hours. After looking at about 300 fox mustangs ( there was almost 800 there) we both got bored and i knew the rest of them were going to be similar so we loaded up and left by 1pm, i think its more for the you tubers to make content lol. If they dont want 94-04 in i think with the underglow lights from last year they should just partner up with hot import nights from now on. 😅

Sitting on my 95 cobra R with 7k miles, super fussy. Drove it last night to ice cream with my daughter. Car is fast and under rated. Sold my 93 cobra last year. 95 cobra R way better car, hands down. Red 93 cobra gets all the looks lol. Love these cars!! 95 cobra R price, good luck soon!!!!

Because they are Fox bodies. It has nothing to do with the body or parts, it has to do with the platform they are built on. The Fox platform was Ford, Lincoln-Mercury proprietary platform for 26yrs. It ran from 78 to 93 on a ton of stuff then exclusively on the Mustang until 04(read that part again) The reason you may see that the Fox platform ended production in 93 is because car manufacturers don't consider being used exclusively on one vehicle "production".They were all built on the Fox chassis, rockers, floors, core support, roof, interior pieces ect are irrelevant, they have nothing to do with the chassis. The 79 to 93 Mustangs got the name "Fox Body" by being built on the Fox platform and racers/performance oriented guys like to sound like they know more so they started saying "Fox Body" until then they were just called "Five Ohs". There are Fox Body LTDs, Fox Body Fairmonts, Fox Body Thunderbirds, Fox Body Capris, Fox Body Zephyrs ect, there's a lot of different Fox Bodies, It's not exclusive to Mustangs(until 94 to 04). Mustangs are just another car built on the Fox platform. Everything that is a determining factor of a Fox Body vehicle is under the car, its platform. It doesn't matter if its longer,wider or shorter, the platform is the same. You said "why were they named SN95 then?" SN95 has nothing to do with the platform/chassis, "S"stands for Small Specialty Market, "N" stands for North America and 95 is the sequence in which the project was approved, and that project used the Fox platform until 04, and no i don't own one, i prefer 79-93(specifically 85-86). Respectfully, yrs of wrenching and painting doesn't make an opinion fact, 94-04 Mustangs ARE Fox Bodies along with several other vehicles.

Although they are not the same it would be interesting if you discussed in more detail some of the parts that are the same or very close. How close are the floor pans, trunk pan, gear shifter etc. just for fun !

Any significant mustang that still affordable buy it now! You watch things like the SVO and T Top cars also the four eye cars are going to start to climb. Remember, there was a day where you could get a fox body 5 L in really good shape for 5K, and under all day long that day was not that long ago. I’ve seen it happen with a lot of different vehicles. Things like the grand Wagoneer and you watch the grand Cherokee about to do the same thing. Love your car by the way.

When it comes to foxbodys the first thing you think of is a mustang and some people don't know that the ford fairmont and the mercury zephyr were the first foxbodys, this was a good video thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinion on this

I agree with you 100 percent. Sn95 is not a foxbody. I love your channel and watching you save theses cars. I grew up always wanting a foxbody but unfortunately cars in my area that are nice driver cars are ultimately out of my price range and the ones that are obtainable for me are glorified parts cars that people want 5k to 10k for not to mention to trying to find a car with a title. I thought i knew alot about foxbodys but ive learned so much from watching your channel. Thank you for all the great info and what you do to save these cars.

When I heard the 94 to 04 was considered a Foxbody I thought WTF! No way. I accept parts are interchangeable but I still agree Foxbody Mustangs are 79 to 93.

Some parts cross, some dont!!! It is a Fox chassis but its a Fox # chassis and is close but not same!

03/04 cobra is the greatest fox chassis car ever. I love mine wayy better than any rattle trap, junky ass fox body three ohh poo that can’t make more than 500 hp without splitting the block right down the middle. This dude is a prime example as to why I stay away from other car people. What a goofy.

I’ve owned every Mustang body style since 1987, I’ve actually had 12 Mustangs my , last was a 19 Bullitt. I’ve never owned a 94 through 98 body style because I never liked them. I had a Taurus SHO that could beat that body style easily… i’ve owned a 90 LX 5.0 convertible 7-Up and an 89 convertible GT. I love mustangs just not the SN 95 so much👍🏽👍🏽
