@Dliciousization4 жыл бұрын
@@samsy426 Check 2:25. She has silk wrapped around her leg and arm and using only the torque produced by her core to wrap herself up the silk. It's ridiculously hard and can be really painful when learning since your entire body weight is being supported by two outward points on your body while you are wrapping silk against the force of gravity against yourself to carry yourself up. It puts a lot of pressure on those areas and is a bitch to do.

People better not call these people “girly” or “dumb” for doing this type of dance, it requires a lot of upper body strength, and lower body strength to do all the movements they can do! It seems way harder than actual dancing.

It is. Idk why they would call her dumb.

Im from europe, and here we have circus universities... I used to do areal silks on a pretty high 'level' (we dont really have competition here, but I used to perform in shows), theres 'circus schools', in which you can specialize in certain techniques, theres conventions where you can meet new artists and train together with people from other countries , and if youre a high enough level you can audition for circus universities, where you not only learn the technique, but also theatre, dance, preformance, muscle buildup, often times an instrument and nect to your technique regular acrobatics as well. Its very intensive, comparable to top sports, nd only few people get in/ can stay. Also the internet is your friend if you wanna learn new/ more complex tricks, make sure to stay safe when experimenting!

As an intermediate aerialist, I always wonder about practicalities when I watch professional acts like this. Like, do professionals use a lot of rosin on their hands and feet to get through these difficult routines? How do they not slip in tights? For me, silks are downright dangerously slippery in tights and without a ton of rosin.
@anthonysanchez10102 жыл бұрын
I don't know how she managed to do that How are you doing today
@constipados Жыл бұрын
Yeah, but actually no, too much rosin can give you too much grip. Last couple of months I was advised to use as little rosin as possible and, though at first I needed more strength, I reallly saw the increasy in dexterity.
@smeef27579 ай бұрын
Late response, but my guess is just pure muscle. I just tried liquid chalk for the first time in aerial, and I noticed it didn't really effect my grip when you're doing "tricks" that your body is already used to.

You get flexible while doing it, if you have the motivation to stretch! I used to not be flexible at all, but then I started streching every night before going to bed, cause I wanted the elegance in the silks, and before I knew it I was in oversplits on all sides!
