Mac has been unlocked by Endo, given the freedom to push forward and doesn't have as much defensive responsibility as he used to when he was playing 6

mac allister plays higher now, hence the high chance creating data... endo plays deeper now so macca now influences the game.... i would recommend a macca type asset on a budget

It’s the Endo effect with Mac10. Look at the games they’ve played together versus games Endo wasn’t involved. It’s night and day for Macs stats because Endo sits at 6 and Mac plays almost as high as a 10. Which is where Mac himself has said he’s played in the past and he really enjoys (he’s too nice and diplomatic a guy to say it’s his preferred position, but he looks more energised). And Klopp loves what he sees from him there - I’ve even noticed Szob sitting deeper than Mac in last month. In short, as long as Endo doesn’t get himself suspended (very possible because the guy gets almost a yellow a game!) or injured, Mac is a decent shout and I’ve brought him in as my 3rd Pool asset because can’t get to VVD/Diaz and don’t trust Bradley when I’ll need him most - the dbl in 34.

Mac Allister was pretty much our DM for the first half of the season. He got injured, Endo came in and has been brilliant and allowed Mac Allister to push a bit more forward.

Mac Allister has been given freedom to play further up the field with Endo playing 6. He has the ability to cut defences with through balls and balls over the top to Darwin and Salah.

Wow... my WC draft almost like your left one except I can't afford Saka so I had Havertz, Solanke instead of Darwin because I can't guarantee he will start and Gabriel instead of Gvardiol.

Any thoughts surrounding livramento as a cheap def option. Given looks likely to start at LB when trips is fit with burn and schar in the middle? Especially with FH in 34

I have wildcard still available but I won't be using until GW 34 because I have saliba Gabriel and saka already in my team... Only Salah from Liverpool.. and I have midfield 5 of saka Salah palmer son and Garnacho... Upfront of Halland solanke and Morris with one FT available... as a liverpool fan, yes smth has changed w macca. i think he’s now been able to play his more natural role because of endo covering defensively whereas at the start of the season he was operating more like a box to box

Macca started the season as the holding midfielder. In recent months, as Endo cemented his place in the 6, it’s allowed Macca to play in his preferred 8 role.

thoughts on Ajer as cheap defender? - really good attacking data - good fixture 33 (for our other defenders) and other upcoming fixtures - Brentford potentially coming into form again after recent weak performances? Mbuemo back, and solid defence performance against United. only negative is no double, but think that the above makes up for it.

when MacAllister plays on Endo, he has more licence to get forward. Furthermore, no trent = SOME set pieces. Also, no Trent means that MacAllister takes up inside roles while Bradley holds width, whereas usually Szoboszlai moves wide to accommodate Trent.

As a Liverpool fan, I think Macca is allowed to get forward more as there's less defensive job for him to do when Bradley is on the pitch as Bradley is better than Trent in defending 1v1. I think Trent coming back into the squad would hinder Macca's attacking threat as Trent will be comanding the whole right hand side attack.

THIS was the video I needed to see! I need a third LIV player. I own Salah and Bradley...funds restrict my purchase of Darwin or Diaz. I want MacAllister and can get to him but I needed to know if he's worth the risk. Now I know he is! Absolutely somethings changed with mac alister, the season stats are misleading due to his positional difference at the beginning of the season before endo had been fully integrated into the starting 11 whereby Mac alister was playing as the deepest lying midfielder in a midfield with szoboszlai and jones. In recent weeks however, since endo has secured the 6 role in the midfield mac alister has been released into a more advanced 8 position with much more freedom to attack
