Want to clarify that the “Total” column on the clean sheet odds page is the weighted value of each team getting clean sheets, and NOT the probability. I explained it poorly in the video, and will try to do better next time! 💜

Great content but are wrong otherwise with that logic is team plays 2 games with 50% chance of clean sheet in both then the’ll have 100% chance of cleansheet which cant be true. P(A or B) = P(A + B) - P(A x B) i.e. for man city P of 1 clean sheet = (0.45 + 0.3) - (0.45 x 0.3) = 0.75 - 0.135 = 0.615

It’s not logic, it’s just bookies odds converted to a percentage for simplicities sake. For example, the bookies think there is a 75% chance that Man City will keep a clean sheet in one of their two Double Gameweek games.

@@FPLMate Not how it works... Chance they keep at least one clean = 100% - No clean sheets (0.55*0.7) = 100%-38.5% = 61.5%

@@FPLMate The correct probabilities for at least 1 clean sheet should be: City 61.5%, Chelsea 38.44%, Newcastle 37.52%, Spurs 34.2%, United 20.95%, Brighton 19.09%. If you'd like me to explain the maths then lmk but this should be correct if I can type numbers into a calculator haha

They’re not probabilities, they’re bookies odds converted to % points to make it easier for anybody to understand. I’m trying to make easy to understand FPL content, not teach probability theory! 😂

Love your content. Keep it up, however, I'm Not sure the maths works this time. I would have city at 62%, everton at 39% chelsea at 38% and arsenal at 33%. Using your method cities chance of not keeping a clean sheet is 125%. (55+70)🤔.

It’s not maths, it’s just bookies odds converted to an average CS expectation % so it is easier to understand for the layman. Feel free to do your own calculations based on the data if you seek something more!

It is maths though, % chance of something happening. Fine if you don't want to bother with calculations but you can't say city have a 75% chance of getting a clean sheet this gameweek

They have a 75% of averaging one clean sheet, it’s the best way to compare double gameweek players with single gameweek players. I’m not going to make this video unnecessarily nuanced for the sake of being “technically correct”. Simplicity and accessibility is what this YT channel is built upon.

Thanks for the advice. Currently bench boosting Could drop Ederson and Macguire for Onana and Gvardiol. Would you make that move for 2 free transfers? Already have triple spurs, new castle and Chelsea (and man city, hence the two step to remove macguire). Money is super tight.

My team - 0 free transfers left. Should I play the BB in GW37 or take a few hits and use it in GW38? 8 players playing the DGW this week (although dubra and gusto are doubtful). Thinking of Gordon, richarlison, foden in & kai, saka and barkley out in midfield. If i already have triple Newcastle, Chelsea, Tottenham and City and I need a GK, do you think Vertbruggen is a good option. I already have Ederson as my first choice and my reserve keeper is not even a starter in Bournemouth anymore. I will play BB37 so I definitely need a new GK and I just can’t think of other options other than Vertbruggen.

Have to get rid of Kelleher, Williams and Sarabia for BB GW37. Have most of the usual suspects (3 x Chelsea, Citah and Newcastle) but can't afford Fernandes (or Gordon) which might be a blessing in disguise! Looking at Onana, Burn and Adingra/Longstaff for -8?

Great work, Dan. I watch all your videos and have benefited from your advice for several seasons. I have to question the clean sheet odds in a double: If a team like man city, for example, would keep a clean sheet 45 times out of 100 in the first matchup and in the next one of the double, 30 times out of 100, that is 75 clean sheets out of 200. So that is 37.5% (the average of the two) and not 75%. Respectfully…

They’re not percentages, I’ve added it together as 2x clean sheets is twice as valuable as 1x when trying to make an easier comparison to those with only 1 fixture
