I really think that any rule changes should be aimed at making the template much harder to achieve. Far too many people just follow the crowd and don't think for themselves. That makes it boring.

Should implement a change where you cannot captain the same player in back to back weeks, e.g. if you captain Haaland in GW1, you can’t captain him in GW2 but then you can captain him again in GW3 etc

I would do away with showing the EO % of each player. This would also do away with the " I'll choose the highest owned forward, mid, and defender for my team as a base". You'll find a lot more variance

The main aim for FPL now is to look at different aspects and try to break this template system. Players having different variety of teams is what the game needs. It makes it more fun and interesting, I see or hear template teams Im disinterested straight away. This needs to be resolved somehow.

Looking forward to change in FPL, has become slightly repetitive with everyone following the same premiums without thought, great video and suggestions.

I had a few ideas: You can only pick three players from one side, with all the others you can only pick two. As someone commented below not being able to pick a captain in back to back GWs is also a good idea. Points for winning a penalty is good ( I actually had a nightmare two seasons ago where I had nine missed penalties, including five players who lost an assist because of the miss). Also giving out minus points for giving one away is also good. And attacking midfielders shouldn't get the clean sheet extra point either.

Manual subs works for euros as there are only a few games, imagine having to remember to do them for 38 weeks

Agree that it needs tweaked. Get rid of VC it's almost pointless. Get rid of BB and replace with Limitless. Can use chips in first part of season then chips reset for second part. Add an Extra point for a goal scored from outside box.

Points from goal outside the box. Yellow card -2 Red card -3 Limitless instead of freehit chip. 1point for 3Aerial duels won 1extra point from direct freekick goals 12thman 1point for every 3 take ons.

Not keen on the captain switch. Or the ball recoveries think most would have the same 3/4 defenders after a few gw. Like the vice captain idea and the points for winning a pen. Point for outside the box goal is also a good idea. The limit on the captain I think would be too difficult to implement. Get a limitless chip in instead of free hit. Max captain chip where the most points in a week automatically becomes captain.

I know this won't be happening as we've had proce reveals now and no sign of it but I'd like to see the midfielders split into two categories. DMs ans AMs. Right now you have attacking players who have very little input in keeping a clean sheet getting points for them and Dms are pretty much ignored in the game. You'd still get 5 mids and its up to you how you split them in your formation but must have at least one of each and then obviously a new point structure would have to be out in place for the new position to make the dms more appealing.

Limitless would have been absolutely redundant last season cos of the likes of cheaper players doing so well and a lack of premiums with the loss of Kane. Keep it as FH. Reduce pens scored to 3 points rather than 4, because then people less likely to stack their teams with prn takers - template. BTW G, it's capped at 3 FTs in Serie A not 4.

I think we could see a bonus point for 5+ recoveries and also the limitless chip being implemented. I also think they should do something like you can’t captain the same players twice in 2 weeks which would make it more interesting and not too complicated to track or for less engaged managers to follow and if you forget to change it your VC becomes ur captain and your previous captain becomes ur VC

I would like to see an injured reserve list - to be able to move a player you don't want to drop to an 'injured' designation, freeze their money and be able to bring in another player for the weeks that the other player is out injured. We've all kept players, hoping they would be back "soon" and have it draggggg out, taking up a key spot on our team

i have millions of ideas but two things i would want the most -limiting captaincy -adding a chip that makes the highest scoring player in the gameweek be auto-captained, this chip is in the formula 1 fantasy game, i would love it in fpl

How about adding a new feature, where fpl players get few additional points when they are on consecutive streak of climbing ranks .

Really think your idea of 2 players per team looks interesting… FPL will need to up prices for players in lower-down-the-league teams tho, or the 100M budget will be too easily met

I wouldn't mind ball recovery, I'd prefer the bonus points to be increased to 5 players instead of 3 (5,4,3,2,1) They is always a player who just misses out despite having a cracking game. It would also bridge gap of blanks to assist and goal points

I hadn't considered max 2 players from each team and must admit I really rate the idea, for all the reasons you mentioned. Personally I just want to see the template get broken up a bit more by more players becoming viable. However that happens, either defensive points, more chips, 2 per team, I don't mind!

I think having five to ten special scoring chips. like point every shot, points for defensive actions, points for long shots. You get to play each one once.

id like to see a rule that protects points earned when a benched player comes on in the last minutes of the game your points earned after 75 minutes should remain

Some ideas 1. Double captain and vize 2. Better captain option, between captain and vize, who has more points will be the real captain for the GW. Activated before the deadline. 3. Manual bench subs in. Like euro fantasy, it can manually subs in bench. It has to be activated before the deadline and give us chance to subs in in certain time after last match in that GW is over. 4. Put the 16th man in the team, which is the manager / coach of the team. He earns 1 point if his team wins, or minus 1 point if his team losses. Get another point if he was choosen as manager of the month. The manager will be permanent of whole season. His price will be considered in 100 M budget, used the slot of maks 3 player or manager from 1 team. If he was fired in the middle of the season, there will be minus points and you have to appoint another manager.

The main thing that would brake the template teams is much bigger and more flexible price changes. I think that it should be possible that price can change up to 0.5 per week. For example, last season Cole Palmer starting price was 5.0, and after impressive performances his price was still low because of the rigid price changes, and everybody could afford him. That means that every FPL manager can have him, and that those FPL managers who bought him early in the season didnt have any reward . Also, selling price should always be the same as purchasing price, so for example - Haland is 12.5 million at the start of the season, and if he has impressive first 10 games - his price should go to 17 million. That means that its not possible for every FPL manager to have him in their teams ( unless they bought him early in the season ), and it also means that if some FPL manager is anticipating his drop in form, he can sell him, spend this 4.5 million extra elsewhere. And the same for price dropping, if someone is 10.0, but then he is sold by the big number of FPL managers because of bad form, his price should be able to drop even on 6.0, so someone who is anticipating his form recovery should be able to get some reward for his good move. This would brake the template completely.

Limit on captain per player and extra sub or two per week would be brilliant. Extra subs will mean you can be far more radical with your team. Limit means the death of auto captain (yay!)

Realistically, 2 players per team would lead to a "more template" in the sense that the top 6/7 clubs, will be covered in most if not all teams..

Think a limit on any one player to captain is a great one think five would be good would stop us always having the captain on the same player each GW

1) Get rid of capt/vice. Instead, if you have the 'player of the week' that player's points double. 2) Goalkeeper should get 1pt per 2 saves, instead of 1pt per 3 saves.

I thought about players owned under a certain precentege score double points, it will increase the amount of deferential and make the game less robotic

The idea of having maximum 2 players per team is just really nice new feature to implement for the upcoming campaign,really running away from the template that proves to be the sticking point for many season for fpl managers

With Triple captain chip, could also have the vice captain get double the points Inbetween prices for the start of the season, but we know, that won't happen Actually knowing when they'll make price rises, which would help players who play the game semi seriously having a higher sell on price for players you keep for long term You could add another section for defensive midfielders, have certain points added for tackles/ball recoveries, but nerf the points when they score or assist to balance things out. Like 2 for an assist and 3 for a goal Have 1 free hit chip and and 1 limitless chip, that would give us more to think about

I really hope 2 players per team becomes a thing. It’s the only way I can see to breaking the template copycat rubbish and making the game more interesting, engaging and exciting. It also would bring more attention to the entire league as a whole, not just the big teams. Pls share/retweet/post about this so it happens 🙏 Edit: Vice Captain 1.5x points is also an absolute must imo. Such a small, easy-to implement change that would make a big impact

I don’t like that the same player who wins a pen and scores the pen doesn’t get the points for winning it. Those points are just lost from the game because it’s the same player involved. And no, it’s not the same as assisting your own goal because they’re two distinct actions. And I like the idea of winning a pen getting points regardless of outcome. I don’t know that it even counts as a big chance creation for BPS if missed?

Break up the classification further, full-backs, centre-backs, defensive midfielders, attacking midfielders and forwards, so they can get comparable points. Like for a defensive midfielder 3 points per tackle, much like the goalkeeper save points.

I would like to up the team amount and budget limit, to cope with injuries etc,,, say 17 players to choose from and 110 mill budget??

Too add to the extra point for goals outside the box maybe an extra point for an assist if it’s more than say a 30/40 yard pass

Hi, RTJ here. Agree with the proposed changes you have, Gianni, especially two max players per team, points for a penalty and ball recoveries. That would change the game and await from template players. Rodris and Declans would be nice pickups as a boost.

If the bench boost chip goes how about an unlimited chip where you can have who you want regardless of their price and as many players from one team as you like?

I'm for anything that makes the game harder. All the proposed changes I've heard, with the exception of having a maximum of 2 players per team, seem to be aimed at making the game easier, aka "make it more fun".

Can’t see myself making an fpl team ever again tbh. Other games simply have better rules, are more fun, and offer £££ for playing well.

Honestly, I love the EURO format and I think it would work the best for BPL as well. Ball recoveries, Man of the match and subs between match days is fantastic.

Personally I like the max 2 from a team idea I think it would lead to more variety, but agreed it probably won’t happen

Don’t love points for winning a penalty. You’re essentially asking for points for creating a chance of a certain xg which would also give points for setting up tap ins. Seems too niche

Really like your ideas. My suggestion to improve FPL is to make the deadline the first match of the GW rather than 1.5 hours before. This will help players who don’t know the right twitter accounts/youtube accounts to have an advantage of leaks, as everyone will know the lineups of the first game

Extra man chip maybe

Need to add points based on every 3 succesful tackles, every 3 ball recoveries and for passes over a certain amount. defensive mids are useless in fpl. remove bonus point system it’s embarrassingly designed

The only thing I love about euro fantasy is the player of the match 3 point system. Much better motm than someone like trippier getting 3 bonus every fixture just because he is a high attacking full back.
